So, I started a Surf band about a year ago and our local paper did a story about us this week...….Note that I'm still touting my PROG love by wearing my Magma shirt in the photos

That's really cool, Harold! Nice to see you in another group. Was there a bass player? I don't recall seeing one.
Sean, Thanks...….a fun side-step away from Prog stuff for a while.
Bass: Nope...just a GTR, GTR, Drum power trio
(On our album, there is bass, overdubbed by me)
I've said this before but it's worth repeating, you guys absolutely NAIL the surf sound. :up
I also enjoyed reading the article, nice to see local musicians getting media coverage.
Always nice to see a surf band with a Magma t-shirt wearing member! :cool
Sounds great! Congratulations on the write up.
Thanks Guys...
Top Cat: Again, thx for the comments about our sound. (The surf tone is fairly easy to achieve if you have the right gear) (I WISH I had a vintage blond Fender Vibrolux amp)
100423: Magma shirt: The guys in my band have NO IDEA who Magma are. Very few will appreciate the irony of how different surf music is from Magma!!!! (btw: my wife thought it was a hoot!)
Well copying the tone is fairly easy to dial in I assume..bring on that reverb Sam..lol
but getting the vibe is something else and I think you truly feel and love this style of music.(I looked up on YT)
I don't think I could listen to a whole album of it anymore, but hearing some of these songs was fun.
I was a young lad when the Ventures came out and was a big fan back then, the days when you bought 45rpm's with your allowance.
