:lol
Can anyone remember what everyone told the house they do? I'd like to compare it with what they actually do. E.g. the lawyer who's a "bartender". And - e.g. what did the forensic scientist tell everyone she does?

^ I think only Xavier and SB told lies in this regard. (The guy that was voted out first may have lied as well, but I don't remember). IIRC, SB told people she was a voiceover artist.
I read a few hours ago that Claire told Derek X what she really does. Twitter is making fun of her saying no one cares, but I have yet to find out what she originally told them. I might have to skim the premiere episode.
Says she is an AI Engineer in her bio:

I just saw the clip where Claire tells Derek X about her occupation. It's the best moment of the season for me so far.
HOWEVER --- DO NOT CLICK THE BELOW LINK and view/read unless you are caught up in real Big Brother time. Spoilers are discussed within the conversation. I am posting the link for those who would like to return to view this if it does not air by the completion of Thursday's show.

^ Ah, good call. I forgot about her AI job. (I'll watch that clip after Thursdays show)
This was a difficult one to watch....

This week was difficult all around. Chaddha was having some very deep soul searching moments knowing she was part of DX's demise.
DX and Claire figured a lot of things out.
The Cookout has this down. They have everything secured for one of them to win. This is very much like the all guy alliance on BB Canada from a few seasons ago. I felt they were one of the all-time best alliances I have seen play Big Brother. I wasn't a fan of them, but they played a great game.
Tiffany's game is patterned after her idol, Janelle. She is mimicking a lot of her game play and does give her credit for it. The difference is that Tiffany has a solid crew that have not imploded.
What was with the Kyland/Chaddha eVotes for DX to stay? We figured Chaddha would give him one. Was Kyland's used to lay blame and confusion and start to invite doubt within the 6, or was it simply part of an open agreement?
Baby D didn't get to see any goodbye messages...
Here is another one I kept in my back pocket until DX was evicted:

DX said production tried multiple times to get DX to play for safety in the HRR this week and he still refused

The Cookout are doing a really great job keeping their alliance secret, but I'm shocked that nobody seems to have figured it out yet. Claire was in the pantry celebrating with the women in the cookout. Did that not seem strange to her? Is there another alliance that she is part of that included those women that I missed?
I understand Claire wanting to win the HOH to keep herself safe, but it was a total waste to keep the nominations the same. She is going to go home and watch this season and totally regret that decision. She just kissed her game good-bye. She's going to lose anyway because a member of the Cookout will win, but she doesn't know that. She just played Tiffany's game and gave up the ability to win HOH next week.
This is not a politically correct comment, so I apologize in advance but...I wonder if people are too afraid to mention that all the black people in the house banned together because they are afraid of having the twitterverse brand them as racist, especially if they are wrong about it (which they won't know until they are out of the house). IIRC, Derek X sniffed around it a couple of weeks ago but seemed to slip away with other drama.
And agreed. Totally dumb move. I also think it was a dumb move for BB to make the winner of the COD ineligible for next week's HOH. Tiffany is a bit too emotional for me to consider her a top tier player, but she is definitely playing the best game thus far of anyone left.
I had the same thought. You would think that it would be pretty obvious by now.
I agree.
She's playing a good game, but I don't like her. I hate how she talks down to people. I hated how she tried to make SB feel guilty for putting up DX because it wasn't good for Tiffany's game. If I were SB I would have told Tiffany to go fuck herself. SB isn't playing for Tiffany, she did what she thought was best for her game and even if Tiffany didn't like it, she should respect it. I really hope that Big D takes Tiffany out.
Did you guys see the clip I linked where Claire revealed to DX her occupation? You can see their friendship come through. They had a bond because DX figured out the Cookout and clued Claire in on it. It was very emotional. I wish I could find the exact clip. They were discussing options with the remaining weeks ahead and DX started to name the Cookout members and Claire caught on. Then they started to communicate with their eyes and were nervously nodding. Then they started to get emotional and the feeds cut. It's difficult to explain their actions. I think that moment was a big moment in their friendship. I doubt they would mention it after the show ends. DX didn't say anything about it with Julie Chen Moonves.
^ I didn't. But I thought I remembered they showed that bit on the broadcast where derek X was speculating about all those people being in an alliance together. But it was brief and awhile ago. And it seemed to have done no good for Claire as she sheeped it up this week for Tiffany.
Yeah. I liked her until she flipped out the first time...I guess at Derek F but I don't care enough to remember the details. :p She seemed quite reasonable and level headed (at least via the broadcast) up until that point. I generally don't like emotional players and her condescension is certainly another nail in that coffin for me.
I recall that as well. It was very brief.
Here's the clip. The sound isn't very clear. At the end DX says "I did notice that but I didn't want to say it out loud".

I would take Tiffany to final two - by bitching to everybody about everybody else, she's ensuring that if she makes it there almost everybody on the jury will tell her to go fuck herself. However, with all the shade Tiffany's casting at the strongest competition players, there's a good chance she'll be in the Jury house sooner given that two double evictions are coming up.
I would take either big D or Azah. Both have done jack all game long and arent primed to do anything going forward.
The cookout:
The good:
The cookout has done several things brilliantly:
- (Almost) never all meeting in the same room!
- Maintaining the secrecy
- Very strong commitment from all members.
- The concept of each member aligning with a non-alliance member
I don't believe any past alliance has been as effective.
The bad:
WITHOUT discussing whether it's a good or a bad thing - their 100% racial alignment has caused controversy (many supporting and many opposing) in the BB fanbase. For better or worse, it will have a lasting effect on this and future BBs in ways that we cannot yet predict.
I LOVE it! We are never outraged when a handful of white dullards align and coast to the end. What's the difference? Why the controversy? There's a very simple answer to that question, but I won't go there. To boot, it has been a real joy watching the The Cookout. Their strategy has been unique, extremely smart, and almost impeccable to this point. I scream for an all-girl alliance every year (Survivor as well). It's no difference in my book. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds (implodes?) at the final six.
This has been a good season.
Perhaps I shouldn't say it but...have there ever been a bunch of white people sticking together just because they are white? That's the main difference, and I imagine where the controversy comes from. (I don't read twitter because I value not disemboweling myself, so I don't know what the people are saying) Just for the record, I'm not saying I view this as a problem. but the outrage would be palpable if they were white. And hell...this may cause situations like that in the future. Will people be more inclined to think, 'hey those *insert racial group* are absolutely going to stick together so we *different racial group* have to stay together and get those others out first'? It will be interesting to see how it develops in the future.
Mods...feel free to delete my post if I'm crossing into territories I shouldn't be.
I always root for good gameplay which the cookout has definitely been utilizing and I don't see them not making it at this point. It is impressive to see a group of six stick together to make it all the way to the final six. Of course, it helps that no one suspects they are an alliance. I'm not sure that's ever happened before.
Also, I feel this season is pretty boring overall. Not shit, but not really something of note and unless things take a drastic turn in the final weeks I can't imagine I will think of this season often after it is over.
I get that, but there have been women sticking together just because they are women. Should race be more controversial than gender? I say this hypothetically. I'm not expecting an answer as this discussion is probably beyond the scope of the game discussion.
I think that The Cookout will change the game in the way that Russell Hantz changed Survivor. Not because of race but because the strategy of having a 'partner' to be nominated with is brilliant. It will be interesting to see if other alliances try to do this in the future, and more interesting to see if they are successful.
Interesting thought in the second paragraph there. I feel like if its found out that it is a popular strategy people will just start to vote out the 'pawn' (unless its too late to have numbers on their side again). That said, unless other seasons follow the overarching trend, I don't know if there will be a tighter alliance then the cookout which seems destined to stay together even though there are several people that don't like each other.
One final thing...its so long ago I can't really remember, but did the Brigade also have 'shields' for each of their members? As I said, I can't remember details, but I recall there being some hurt feelings at the end of the game when they finally told the remaining one about their alliance.
I no longer think that Tiffany is playing a good game. She's totally missing the big picture. She keeps saying that she's building her resume. What she's missing is that she's building her resume by betraying the people that she will need to vote for her. Terrible jury management.
