A superior sample compared to the other, shorter one, that's been floating around on youtube for years. Great!

What a great band they were!

BTW, and I don't know whether you've noticed, but after that clip is over there's an option for a 37-minute live recording of the entire Snorungarnas Symfoni, the piece by Gregory Allan Fitzpatrick that Samla released back in '76. Very interesting; I didn't even know there existed a concert recording of this!

Fitzpatrick is a renowned music pedagogue and scientist these days, having done extensive research into both the history and technology of sonic art. I believe he teaches at Lund or some other Swedish university.

Good stuff except for Michel Berckmans' sweater! Why haven't Von Zamla's albums been issued on CD?????

No Make Up never was, for no reason I could ever discern.

Zamlaranamma was.

I did not know that. (Or maybe I did and just forgot.) Probably way OOP by now though, right?

No Make Up never was, for no reason I could ever discern.

And that's a shame. I'm lucky enough to own an original copy, and it's quite good. I like it as much as most of the Samla/Zamla albums.

And don't worry, I'll probably get around to finally buying 1983 10 years after it goes OOP, like I did with Philharmonie's The Last Word. It is on my want list. ;)

That is just 14 1/2 minutes of lovely right there. So glad I got to see them once before Lars' passing.

So glad I got to see them once before Lars' passing.
My thoughts exactly except that I was lucky to see them twice. Firmly among my favorite bands ever in any genre from any country, both in their 1970s and 1980s incarnations. This is a pretty long excerpt from the second gig I've been to:

I once pissed on Lar's barefoot in a men's room after a show. He was always barefoot! And I was pissing like a racehorse after the show because I did not want to leave during the show. Lar's just laughed it off and said hey my friend do not worry about it, this is only piss!! :lol I was blown away as I was totally 'pissed' at myself for pissing on him! What a truely friendly and genuine man he was.
