These folks are one of my very favorite bands - their first two releases were quite something. In trolling around the web, they seem to have released this some time this year, although there's not a lot of mention about it. The clips (30 secs) I've heard sound like they've added some significant vocals....

Has anybody heard this? Any idea where I can get my hands on it (no mp3 download)?

Thanks,

dave

I hope Scarlet Thread will release another album. Their first two are great examples of new psychedelic progressive music.

that new one is download only, I am nearly certain.

That's the future. Unfortunately.

NOOOOO!

dang, has it come to this?

can't believe this is the going to be the preferred method of distribution. as best i can tell, this album has been 'made' for a while. nobody seems to have heard of it.

First of all, Dave, thank you for supporting us. I'm happy to announce that Never Since is now available in a genuine, hand-touchable CD format (it was available as a download for a short time, until the service provider just quit). It's been a long road for this one to get published, the recordings were finished in 2008. But we've been patient because we thought it was worth it. Keep an eye on our website for details on how to get your copy :)

... As I said , you can buy this album now from Presence Records / Running Moose Net Shop! I hope you enjoy it.

Sorry, Isaw Sami had already answered you. Old news, i'm afraid...

The one song available on the website is very good. Mari Vuoritie sounds so much like a very young Kate Bush. Looking forward to it.

Here's an excerpt from the only rating/review so far on RYM:

"You will hear the enormous talent of the musicians and will be very happy a violin is present on a few songs to give the album a folky feel at times. You will, however, be horrified that the band picked such a sucky singer. (I think sucky is a Finnish saying because I never used that word before joining RYM!). Of course the female singer will torture you on and off while listening to Never Since by singing out of tune. It gets worse. When she sings in tune you won't like her voice because it is so weak. UGH is what you will blurt out!

I presume the band knew the vocals sucked and that is why they never released the album. I'll even bet they have performed the songs instrumentally w/o vocals for the last 7 years live in concert. I wonder why the band did not re-record the vocals with the new vocalist before releasing the album???"

Anyone care to comment? This was an auto buy until I saw this. Presume I haven't listened to a sample yet (which I haven't).

Tom, like I said, the vocals sound like a very young Kate Bush which, for me, is a plus. I don't think you will have an issue with that, but listen to the sample.
