Quatermass is instantly recognizeable on the very first picture.

I'm struggling to place the one right above it. German band Zarathustra maybe?

Think well-known Uk singersongwriter.

Yeah. Quatermass and Fragile in the top photo. I have no clue as to the others, but it looks like there’s a lot of Roger Dean in there. :lol

Enigmatic takes it!
Good job. (This is not easy. I know I would absolutely suck at it.)

I should mention the 3 backgrounds are also lp cover parts. Extra points if you identify. (Oopps - I forgot. The mods don't like the idea of competition here at PE)

Red Mask and Dave Brock are incorrect. All others so far are correct identifications.

Good work lads.

Part B and C are the difficult ones.

(Im surprized no one got the stained glass window)

Alquin & Colosseum are incorrect.

I think Piblokto is wrong also, but to be honest its been a while and I cant remember where the red skull is from.

for the Stained Glass, that was my alquin suggestion

I checked for Piblokto and the red skull and I'm wrong too... I also thought about Gun's debut, but I'm wrong as well

Stained glass on Part C = DARK

Face wearing shades in Part B that someone thought was Jon Lord = PATERNOSTER

No one can see the Donovan?

No.

Okay, I'm giving one obvious one away that no one identified - Jade Warrior.

rcarlberg
12-02-2012, 09:42 AM
Part A backdrop is an early PFM album.

Jymbot
12-02-2012, 09:57 AM
No it isn't.
Its not even prog.

Pop UK 70s. Exceptionally well-known band.

TheH
12-02-2012, 10:34 AM
I think you already mentioned it to be from The Kinks.

Hmm.. as there aren't to many colourfull Kinks covers, I would guess it has to be Face to Face

TheH
12-02-2012, 10:47 AM
And I' pretty sure that there is no Jade Warrior, but maybe I'm blind.

Jymbot
12-02-2012, 10:50 AM
Jade Warrior is the hand on green background in "A" collage.

"Face To Face" - another mystery undone!

Clue for "C" , the Rememberance Day-poppy sort of thingy -black cross on red poppy background:
UK folk, folkrock band 70s. Lp had a long title.

TheH
12-02-2012, 11:12 AM
Are you sure about Jade Warrior? That hand is not on any of my LP's (and I ve got them all). Alternative cover artwork?

TheH
12-02-2012, 11:58 AM
Have to corect The Kinks one is "Percy" by the way

Jymbot
12-02-2012, 01:21 PM
You know, you are correct on both counts - much to this Prog Masterman's chagrin.

Both "Face to Face" & "Percy" used those pastels, but indeed its "Percy".

I THOUGHT it was from Jade Warrior " Last Autumn's Dream", but looking now at my cover it isnt.
Damned if I recall where I got that section from - its been some two years since I made these three collages up.

Jymbot
12-02-2012, 01:23 PM
Okay, two more from "A" that were not identified are : Uriah Heep and ....err....Randy Holden.
I'm pretty sure...Yep.....ughhhhhh

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s145/baggra/Bitco/psych/post_7186.jpg

TheH
12-02-2012, 04:51 PM
And they are quiet tricky, your collages.

I totally suck at guessing the photographic bits, bandphotos always look the same to me and I can't remember anything of them.

Uhriah Heep that's the yellow smoke one (should have got that one). Cover shows a tank I think, to lazy to look up.

Randy Holden, is that the guy from Blue Cheer? Don't know any of his solos.

Congratulations Mr H.!

You have achieved the exaulted level of Prog Masterman.

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s145/baggra/Bitco/psych/4389073360_344814e88a.jpg

Only a Prog Masterman may dub another to be of the Mastermanly wunderkind.* As I have now done unto you. (The certificate will come later in the mail.)

*The exception being, of course, when one - like the god Helios or Phoebus - is BORN a Masterman.

Jymbot

Rejoice all!

We have a second Pwog Masterman amongst us now. (For I, Wallace The Prince Of Eagles, have made Him so.)

You will all revel in His Presence.

To look Him in the face is forbidden you.

Just do not abuse your newly-acquired powers.

Just because they have to avert their gaze does not mean you can make faces.

You will discover a Prog Mastermanly life is good. I would not have it other than it is.

One garners the admiring notice of discerning women.
One moves with familiarity amongst the literati.
One finds oneself invited to sup in Houses where vessels of jade are in common use and Bruikladditch reigns supreme, flows like common wine.

Few are able to attain this height of ideal.
Few have the strength of character.

The Elevation must positively over-awe you, is it not so?

Jymbot
12-04-2012, 01:20 PM
I am THINKING of Elevating this Progbear.
What do you say?
