I posted one of these in the Last Domino tour thread but I thought these might warrant their own thread. For anyone like me who was disappointed at how bloated with nonsense the Together & Apart documentary was, and would have preferred much more talk from the band themselves, some of the complete interviews have started appearing on YT recently. Some are quite long and detailed, with numerous reminisces I hadn't heard before, and you can really see just how wasteful it all was to have such tiny snippets used.

(If any are not showing up here, you have to go directly to YT to watch them.)

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing!

This cracked me up:

PHIL: Well, Stratton wasn't *gay*, but he did fill in for them when they were busy. :)

ah, so Phil brought along his own drums to the Genesis audition, packed into Ronnie Caryl's Morris Minor (who also auditioned on guitar). Was always curious about that since he plays the drums left-handed. Luckily, Phil played a small kit back then and is a small bloke! ;)
(For some reason, since Peter did at one time play the drums and because his family could afford a piano, i thought perhaps Gabriel/and/or the band owned a drum set as well which was used for the auditions--but it seems not.)

Yeah, the finished doc was awful.

I never saw the finished doc … that being said (and I live Steve) .. he seemed a bit more all over the road on these interviews - phil sounded like me dad :)
