I want to put together a cd or two of nothing but acoustic pieces in the vein of Emmett's Midsummer's Daydream and Page's Bron-Yr-Aur. I know I'm forgetting a bunch but what others would be good to throw in the mix. Thanx!

Leo Rising off Ronnie Montrose's Open Fire album is an often overlooked acoustic piece but it's not 100% acoustic; there is some synth in it. How about Penny For Your Thoughts from Frampton Comes Alive??

The Steves - Hackett, Howe & Morse - have a ton of them.

As does Anthony Phillips.

Alex Lifeson has "Broon's Bane," from Exit...Stage Left and also "Hope," from Snakes & Arrows.

I have Open Fire and I'll look into Framptons

Tempted to list Renaissance’s “Trip to the Fair,” though it has electric bass on it so I’m not sure if it technically qualifies. But there’s the whole spectrum of acoustic keyboard instruments on this one (piano, harpsichord, celeste and positive organ).

Some guidelines might help- genre, guitarists more known for their electric output, etc.

How about Jorma Kaukonen's Embryonic Journey from Surrealistic Pillow? Zappa did an acoustic duet- The Ocean is the Ultimate Solution? John McLaughlin has some but can't think of any off the top of my head. Of course, the aforementioned Hackett and Howe will keep you busy. Leo Kottke? Chet Atkins? Michael Hedges? Sparks from Tommy?

yes, you're right. mostly rock guitarists like Emmett or Page. there always seemed to be an acoustic tune or 2 on Triumphs albums. I'm open to any suggestions though. can't overlook all the great guitarists of any genre but I'm specifically thinking just rock/hard rock

Might catch heat for this, but you could do worse than using tracks from Michael Hedges Aerial Boundaries...noticed that Wayside has it for $5.

concur with hedges & kaukonen. How about Phil Keaggy or Spencer Barefield... Sorry, not rock, though...
