"All of the Above" by Transatlantic. Man, I don't know where I am with this band. A lot of it I find quite well-written (I've grown attached to many parts in "The Whirlwind"). Then, Morse and company get cheesy for a few minutes and I don't know why I keep it on.

The Who-Live in Hull 1970

My first listen...so far it's a pretty hot cd. Moon is tearing the place up and the rest of the band aren't far behind. Bob Pridden has done an excellent job of bringing this show to life.

I'm jealous! Piano Phase, Phase Patterns AND Four Organs?? Wow. I'm surprised that they even still perform those early pieces, but I count them among Reich's greatest works, as well as Music for 18 Musicians, Six Pianos & Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ.

This was my first exposure to VDGG/Hammill. "Darkness" was the first thing I ever heard, and when it was over I had to go back and listen a second time before moving on to "Refugees". One of those 'instantly blown away' moments that you remember for the rest of your life. I love that album to pieces.

Well, it's more classical inspired. I think Jon Lord has mostly limited himself to composing. It's not as rocking as his earlier classical albums, like Sarabande, Gemini Suite and Windows. It is partly made to the memory of his parents.

Tried this several times in my local library, when I was much younger, because of the cover. It seems the cover attracted more people to this album. Alas at that time, the music didn't click with me. Recently I listened to some stuff by them on Youtube and I decided to buy the CD with their first 2 albums.
My tastes in music seems to have changed a bit, because I can't understand why I didn't like this album when I was younger. It's perhaps not the best I ever heard, but still, I tend to like it. The only thing I miss are a bigger picture of the cover and a list of who is playing what instruments on this album. The CD-booklet has this for all the songs on the first album. The booklet states the trumpetplayer has gone on the second album, but this appears to be wrong. I still hear a trumpet and several websites still lists Frank Posa as a member of the group on the second album.

AREKNAMES "In Case Of Loss"

Yet another case of what I've brought up elsewhere - I dont care how good the playing is, when they make the (English in this case) vocals pretty well un-intelligible (I am not talking accent here but audio mix), it completely ruins everything.

Can't these new bands get this simple fact straight?
