It would be nice to see other collections of memorabilia. Feel free to post images of your collections and individual pieces. From guitars to baseballs to photos and everything else -- show 'em if you got 'em!

If you want to tell the story on how you obtained an item, feel free to. Otherwise, let's see the goods! :up

Who is the book by?

I assume the setlist is from Chicago. What era?

Where did you get that Sammy Hagar 'graph? He signs so sloppy now. You have a very good one! :up

Nice stuff -- keep 'em coming!

Book is Street Player by original Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine and signed by him. The set list is actually California Transit Authority and is signed by Danny again and also Marc Bonilla who has become chummy with my 13yo son. They typically hang out after every show and I always get an updated photo. As for the Hagar, I am a Sammy fanatic and my wife wrote to his management a few years back and asked if she could buy a poster personally autographed. All other autographs are from Winter NAMM 2010.

Very cool!!

Until recently, you could send practically anything to Sammy and he would sign it and send it back (SASE, of course) along with a signed promo photo. Too many dealers were sending in stuff that ended on eBay so he has, for the most part, stopped that.

Knowing that you are a Hagar fan, I will take pics of some of my Sammy stuff tomorrow.

All other autographs are from Winter NAMM 2010.

2013 will mark my 26th consecutive year attending NAMM. :lol

carrying this post over from the PE v2.0 board:

I manufacture the large picks and customize them. I have presented, manufactured and sold this idea to bands for merchandise. They are made from acrylic. A few of my friends and I were doing these in the late '90s and I perfected it in recent years. The large picks are about 9 inches tall and the smaller picks are about 6 inches tall. All are about 1/8 inch thick.

Originally I would have musicians sign these and they would get a kick out of the novelty of the pick. It is great as most doodle or sign with much appreciation. Here are a few:

The Ace one we talked about:

I am a Sammy fanatic

Here are a few Sammy things from Van Halen and some of my Van Halen...

For "Balance", Warner Bros. released a series of promotional album flats with each band member's face as the image. They are the same size as an album: 12" x 12". Here is the set with their autographs:

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad308/goblynzgroove/memorabilia/mem_lp_vh_sam.jpg

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad308/goblynzgroove/memorabilia/mem_lp_vh_alex.jpg

I went with the theme and had one manufactured of David Lee Roth. It sits waiting to get signed:

I framed each one and they all hang along the hallway on my second floor along with the "Balance" LP:

I got it from Graphic Collectibles. It's framed now, but I neglected to take a good pic of it before framing. I'll post a pic of the most glare-free image I can take, plus some other "Bat crap" I've picked up over the years over the next little while

Meanwhile here's a larger pic of the avatar. The original is just b&w.311

Fictional, I guess. "This Louis Dakine has to be some kind of relation to the Bobby Dakine mentioned in The Dan's "What A Shame About Me" from Two Against Nature" is the speculation. Whoever it is seems to like collecting cold war/nuke era goodies though!

I was aquainted with a fellow who worked in a large guitar store in CT, and who also knew that I was a big Mott/IH fan. When Ian unloaded some guitars at his store, he approached me and asked if I would be interested in this particular guitar from strictly a collector's standpoint, because it had a cracked headstock, albeit repaired, but not really functional for serious use. The autograph was part of the deal, and I had a few extra bucks to blow at the time. Whenever I see an SG, I always associate it with early pics of IH with MTH, and also with the very young Pete Townshend. Next to a sunburst Strat, it's my favorite guitar.

Have a bunch of CDs signed but the cases are packed away. Here is what I remember I have.

Black Sabbath Reunion CD- after recording the CD they made 1 public appearance in the US at a record store that just happened to be at my local mall. My then 7 month pregnant wife stood in line with our 15yo son all day just to meet these guys and get me their autographs. Our family actually has 3 copies of the CD signed.

ABWH - met them on the first tour at a local record shop in Philly and had them all sign the CD.

Eric Johnson Electromagnets CD - have met the very shy Eric a couple of times and he has always been gracious to sign stuff for me. One time spent 10 minutes just taking to my youngest about his long hair and Allan Holdsworth shirt.

John 5 - every CD he has released I have had signed or personalized to me.

The 4 albums signed in the above post were all from in-store appearances by King Crimson; ITCOTCK was at an HMV store iirc, where Fripp, Lake, McDonald & Giles were. That copy is a rare Japanese cardboard gatefold of very high quality cardstock. Greg was very impressed and made sure the other members took their time in looking this album over and signing it. "Very nice", "Ooh, nice" and "Cool" were among the sentiments. Robert just nodded approvingly when it was his turn. He is very appreciative and willing to sign stuff under "his" terms, ala these in-store happenings. There were several over a few years celebrating, I think, the 25th anny's of ITCOTCK and then (?) USA. Hundreds of fans lined up around the block for those. The ones posted on this space, at least the ticket from a Savoy 1981 gig was signed at an in-store signing for the "Sunday All Over The World" album at a Tower Records in the Village, NYC. Fripp was, band-wise, alone and pretty much no one, maybe 10 people, fan-wise, were there. A bit annoyed the Frippster was, as that meant there would be conversing in a manner not seen before at these signings; all the others (5 or 6 over a few years) had so many fans lining up that there was really no time for anything more than a few words of thanks before one moved along. Anyway, for this SAOTW stint, I brought the whole ticket I managed to keep from one of those gigs; back then there were no scanning of bar codes, tix got ripped upon entry, and along with another lp, handed it to him. Robert was very impressed I had the whole ticket, and a bit emotional as he held it. Those 3 nights, 6 shows at the Savoy were quite memorable for all involved. I handed him the ticket and said "I was at all 6 of them!" RF took his time signing it; notice you can nearly read Robert quite cleanly on that ticket; most, if not all his autographs have it look like Robt, at best. Anyway again, he handed it back to me and looked me in the eyes with a little smirk and replied, "So was I." Priceless in my book. I, as always the several times I've met him said as I left, "Thanks again for continuing."

Another favorite; Derek Schulman and Kerry Minnear signed the lyric sheet to "In A Glass House" for me at their in-store thingy at FYE records a few years back. Kerry-"Ooh, look Derek, the original!" Derek-"Ah yes, an original one!"
Living in NY has given me the chance to meet numerous artists at these (FREE) events and have stuff signed. I have been to ones with Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe; Anderson & Trevor Rabin; Steve Hackett; Original Asia-Howe, Downes, Palmer & Wetton and Joe Satriani when his first cd came out. Also have a signed upcoming concert promo flyer for the old Lone Star Roadhouse by Donald Fagen & Walter Becker (Steely Dan) as they were hanging out one evening at the bar there. Was also able to hang with one of my heroes, Nash The Slash at a couple of his gigs in Toronto and he signed some cds and posters. Sadly, he has retired and I will cherish those even more!

The big funny looking chunk is a piece of fiberglass meteor from Monster Magnet's 'Negasonic Teenage Warhead' video. There's also an autographed Ken Kelley print and a Lynette Shelley print.

Thebook "The second earth" is a Paper Tiger reprint of the book from "Pentateuch of the Cosmogony"

Do you collect assorted NASCAR models or memorabilia?
Not really anymore, I used to be really into stock car racing but haven't followed it all that closely the last few years.

I am not much of a collector, and over my years organizing show, surprisingly, I collected very few autographed items, but the ones I have are precious:
-Present tour photo, signed by every band member
-A guitar signed by all the members of the Flower Kings
-Emerson & Lake setlist signed by both musicians
-Montreal Jazz Festival lithograph signed by the artist
-Relayer lithograph signed by Roger Dean
-Grace Under Pressure tour program signed by all three members of Rush

As for non-music collectables, I have a few antique radios, movie memorabilia, including presskits dating back from the 70's, and several hundred movie posters.

Cool! I am not into NASCAR at all -- never have watched a race. ;) I did go to some type of anniversary thing they had at The Wiltern theater in Los Angeles in the late '90s. If you go through the early images of this thread, you will see my Martin Sheen autographed Spawn figure. I got that signed at the NASCAR event. Also got George Thorogood and a bunch of NASCAR drivers to sign some stuff. I do remember Kyle Petty being one of the signatures I got.

Not much of a collector myself, but a couple items include:

1) Autograph of astronaut Wally Schirra (Apollo and Gemini programs)

2) A plastic garden owl signed by 3 members of Anglagard from NEARFEST 2003

3) Chord chart from a studio session I played on signed by R&B singer Little Joe Cook
