Flicker are a group of not quite middle-aged friends/relatives/musicians that finally got enough money together to record 'their' album.

How much are you willing to forget will be released on CD & Limited Edition Vinyl in February 2013 with a 10 date UK tour being planned for March/April 2013.

It can presently be heard for free on Spotify or purchased through most digital outlets. e.g iTunes, Deezer, HMVDigital etc.

Below is one recently blogged review - other written reviews can be found on iTunes.

Let's be honest, the British music scene needs a much needed kick in the gonads. So imagine my surprise at being handed, or rather kicked in my nether-regions by some sonic-shaped steel-toe-capped boot, an exceptional album with all the hallmarks of a British classic.

Flicker are a treasure to be discovered by the discerning lover of prog rock and beyond. How Much Are You Willing To Forget is an ever-shifting, immersive epic from the off that resonates from the first note to the last. Their subtle and gloriously melodic style nods towards Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Rush and early Genesis.

Stand out track Go, a catchy fine-tuned almost mechanically calibrated groove-fest sets an electrifying pace. What follows is a hugely engaging and genuinely moving collection of songs that ebb and flow between minimal intricate meanders and Pink Floyd-esque stadium-sized atmospherics. This band have the whole proggin' lot! Pin-drop poignancy, euphoric rush and lyrical flair, it's all here. The hot/cold shudder of track Everywhere Face. The sonorous depth of Falling Down. It's a classy and beguiling collection of songs that also sound like a commercial breakthrough.

Vocalist/songwriter/driving force Ellis Mordecai's honeyed croon is constantly giving rise to an organic chemistry that pulls on every sense and synapse. There's plenty of space for the instruments to breathe within this delicious and pulsing album. Every sonic square inch is a moment of such transcendent beauty you'll feel like you've crossed a threshold into another world.

I just heard about this band this morning. The album is really quite sensational. If you like Steven Wilson's last tour, you will like How Much are You Willing to Forget.

So far this really doesn't impress me that much. How many more alt.prog bands, who are all basically using the same building blocks, do we really need? Sure, just as much as we need another Genesis / Pink Floyd / King Crimson clone but this doesn't float my boat either. And it might be that the above Bandcamp stream is too compressed but the overall guitar sound is grating on my ears.

I don't like pizza for dinner every night, but when I do want it I'm always up for trying a new place. This is some tasty pizzza! Or maybe I'm just getting tired of Pappa John's. |)

I will take as many Genesis / Pink Floyd / King Crimson infuenced bands you can send me. I think this pretty impressive for a debut.

We are going to have a US Flicker Release Party on progrock.com. The band will be in chat, we will play selected songs from the album, hear some of their favorite non flicker songs, and we will give a few disks away.

Ok well I put my money where my mouth is this weekend. Rayna and I flew from chicago to Manchester to see this band. Looking forward to tonight. To the rest of you give this album a listen. If Breathless doesn't leave you breathless than you are dead inside.
