I suppose it depends on whether or not you're going to like Flux. Belew has dropped hints at what it might be, but it's hard to imagine.

I've been to the Stick once, for the Musical Box Lamb show. Not sure what was worse - the chatterboxes occupying the comped FR seats, or the waitresses continuously blocking the view as they took drink orders throughout the show, That said, this venue is definitely much larger than the previous venues Belew solo was at in recent years - that includes the cramped Rhythm Room for the Power Trio show, then a step up to the Crescent Ballroom for the Belew/Levin bill, and now this one...

As far as I can tell, Flux is an app that randomly combines the bits of of audio Belew uploads to it. So the listening experience for individuals is truly individual. When you boot up Flux, it puts together a half-hour of music based whatever Belew has currently made available. I'm looking forward to it.

While he'll be promoting Flux, I don't see how he can base a show around it. The show will probably be focused on his songs, like a regular concert. I saw Ade with the Power Trio last time he came to Santa Cruz (promoting side four, I believe). It was a great show. I think a 45 minute drive would be worth it, if you like Adrian Belew. I was thrilled pink when he pulled out "Young Lions." I never even thought I would have heard that live. In the Power Trio, Belew is like a diamond in a solid gold setting.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.

    Talking Stick here I come!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Picked up my Boston tix this morning via AmEx presale! The Trio's show back in 09 at the Iron Horse in Northhampton remains my all-time favorite show of the last 36 years. Just incredible.

Hell yeah! Heck, I drive further than that to go to work every day. You won't regret it.

    That's more like it!

I've seen him live twice: once on the "Twang Bar King" tour (yes, I'm old) and once with the Slick siblings "a couple two tree" (or 4 or 5?) years ago. It's always a joy!

I went online this afternoon and got a 2nd row center seat for the WXPN World Café Live show in Philadelphia during October 2014. My ticket only cost $30 total. Excellent venue. I highly recommend seeing the show there. Anyone else going to that show?

Got tix for the NYC show at the Highline. Good place to see a show, and the food is pretty good too!

Now that you mention it, I'd be disappointed if he didn't.

We were at that show and at least one other Power Trio show at the Horse, plus enjoyed the combined StickMen/Power Trio iteration a couple of years back. Wish ade would come back to the Horse! And BTW there's only one "h" in Northampton.

Re Flux, this kind of gimmick always seems pretty underwhelming. Hopefully this one won't be.

Hey Rick! Yep! I still enjoy the digital recording to this day! Oh and forgive my typo, I am completely aware that there is only one h (just as Ade clearly points out at that show: "...we are going to give you the best rock show possible...at 7 o'clock...on a Tuesday night...in Nort....Hampton." ).
