I've always considered the mighty Mellotron and the Chamberlin that preceeded it as analog samplers and not synths by any definition

Stefano Panteleoni - Alle Muse (1987)

Naturally they aren't on CD.... Remarkably (or perhaps not LOL) I did find both artists on YouTube, so you can check them out there.
Interesting. I did some digging on the web and the whole Pantaleoni album can be heard on soundcloud:
    https://soundcloud.com/stefano-pantaleoni
And according to his website there was in fact a CD version:

Doesn't Beaubourg by Vangelis fall into this category?

I had this nagging feeling that this was already on CD too... Perhaps I just need to reference my own website. LOL. Ken had already told me about this, and I just plain forgot. http://cdreissuewishlist.blogspot.co...oni-italy.html

I need to update my main list as well with this news.

    Thanks for the response!

Pretty much, though my understanding is most people hate it. Allegedly, it was one of those "Get me out of this record deal as fast as possible" records, but I happen to like. Yeah, it bares no resemblance to his other records, but so what? I like the atonal synth thing, when it's done right, and I think this is one where it was done right.

    Of course...

but let's face it, samplers became the rage and became a househlod vame in the 89's when they went digital. and they integrated digital synths around that same era.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Dredging up this old thread to ask a simple question:

Anybody got a copy of "Ozone Music" by Rupert Randall Chappelle they'd be willing to dub for me? Unlike almost EVERY other album I've thought to look for online, this one does not seem to have been posted anywhere. And I looked!

A couple I don’t think have been mentioned yet:

    Dorothea Raukes: Deutsche Wertarbeit
    Laurie Spiegel: The Expanding Universe

NO, early sequencers were not digital. They had just a clock and knobs to produce a certain voltage at a certain time.

Couldn't find much info on musician or this album. I don't know if it's synth or what, but I like the music.

I could be wrong, it sounds like a processed vibraphone. I don't hear any analog synths outright...but I do like it
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

It's definitely vibes, plus bell tree. Plus some marimba, percussion, cello. Nice stuff too.

Schachner appears to be a music producer for Lyra Records and founder of Gateway Recordings, as well as the author of The Official Scrabble Word Finder, How and When to Be Your Own Lawyer and Last Words in the English Language.

Scrabble should be the moniker of a synthwave group/entity.
