Mogrooves - some very interesting selections!

The one that really caught my eye was Van Morrison. Since St.Dominic's Preview he has released some corkers (IMHO)

Have you heard these, if so no problem, but if not well worth investigating. Love his music so much did a quick kindle book on Morrison's best albums.

Hammill - would nearly agree with In Camera but think A Black Box merits the term "great".

Two that should have made my original list as well. Thanks for the reminder. I forget shit.

So the last albums by artists, and which I personally find completely engaging without any low points?

Genesis - Duke (but only if I ignore two or three weaker tracks; otherwise it would have to be Wind & Wuthering)
Yes - Talk (with The Ladder a close second)
Queen - The Game (unlike most of you, or so it seems, I think Queen did some fantastic stuff in the 80s and early 90s - but The Game was the last album without such a high proportion of filler)
King Crimson - Red (I like plenty of music they've done since, but just not entire albums)
Pink Floyd - The Division Bell (for me, better than either of the 80s Floyd albums) :-)
Steve Hackett - Out of the Tunnel's Mouth (but to be fair he tends to produce a great album out of every three or four he does in different styles)
It Bites - The Tall Ships (for me, Map Of The Past was a bit disappointing in comparison, though I still like it a lot)
Kansas - Somewhere To Elsewhere (pretty great, and certainly more consistently so than anything since POKR)
Marillion - Marbles (for me, 'Montreal' lets down Sounds That Can't Be Made)
ELP - Works Vol. 1, but only if you discount most of the first three sides ;-) (and I must be the only one who actually thinks Black Moon is a pretty good album - not great though, of course!)
Camel - Nude (but lots to like on plenty of later ones, especially Rajaz and A Nod and a Wink. Dust and Dreams could have been one of their greatest if only the drums and production were better)
Dream Theater - Octavarium (yep, I'll be in the minority here once again...)
IQ - Ever (I'm a fan of almost all their stuff, but I don't think they've made an album as consistently great as this one since)
Alan Parsons [Project] - Try Anything Once
Spock's Beard - V (all the other albums since have been very good, but not quite as great as this one)
The Enid - Aerie Faerie Nonsense ((after that it's patchy, for me)
Panic Room - Satellite (neither of the two albums since have been so good, and the latest one, Incarnate, is the first time I've felt a bit let down by them)

    Pink Floyd: Animals
    Porcupine Tree: Deadwing

Little Feat: Waiting for Columbus (or if you discount live albums, then we gotta go back to Sailin' Shoes)
    Radiohead: OK Computer
UFO: Strangers in the Night (so overwhelming it buries the studio work)
    The Kinks: Lola versus Powerman
    The Rolling Stones: Some Girls

    Soundgarden - King Animal
Nothing like a real powerful comeback. I could argue the same for Rush's Clockwork Angels.

^^ Agree with Band On the Run. I have tried to appreciate McCartney's solo & wings stuff, both earlier and later, but I find there is normally a handful of really good songs and a heap of - well, silly love songs. Venus and Mars is probably the closest contender, though it's so much like BOTR Part 2 that it's pretty redundant.

A few people had Power Windows as the last great album from Rush and that was my choice as well for many years, until they redeemed themselves with Clockwork Angels.

    Tull - Heavy Horses
    Manowar - Kings of Metal
    Humble Pie - Smokin'
The Monkees - The Birds, The Bees and the Monkees
    Horslips - Aliens
    Yes - Drama
    Angel - Helluva Band
    Elvis Costello - Trust
Gov't Mule - Life Before Insanity
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...
