I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Watched The Sunset Limited, last night. Somewhat reminiscent of My Dinner With Andre, but I think it was a lot more interesting.
Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson are the only two actors, stuck in Jackson's (who plays "Black") apartment after he has saved Jones (who plays "White") from committing suicide by train.
"Black" is an faith-filled, optimistic, non-intellectual, ex-con-turned-preacher, who begins the film with an exuberance for life and a mission to help people, and "White" is a over-intellectual, doubt-filled, pessimistic, academic who simply wants to be free of life and its trappings.
It's a philosophical exploration into how these two competing viewpoints interact, how they imprison and shelter/protect each character. The film never leaves the apartment, but visual and auditory elements both clue the viewer in to the world outside, and offer symbolic references to the movement of the their conversation, and the changes they go through.
I expected the two characters to essentially switch roles by the end, but (spoiler alert, if anyone cares) the pessimist ends up corrupting the optimist.
Seen it before, like it a lot.

My fave "trapped in an apartment" movie is still Carnage.

Penelope Longstreet: Yours is a FUCKING SNITCH!
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
I always liked the original Sleuth with Michael Caine & Laurence Olivier.

Solomon Kane--Robert E. Howard character who also did Conan and others. Actually I liked this film. It nailed the look and feel of the character and the way I'd think it was supposed to look. It had a lot of sword play and action. I think if you are a true REH fan, you might nitpick it as it's not taken after a specific REH story, but that didn't bother me. I only had a problem with the very ending where they sort of have a Lord of the Rings type moment, but there's wizards and necromancy, and that stuff. Cool film if you like GoT, LotRings, the Rome series, and so forth.
Sounds good - looks like it's available on demand.

Its not exactly trapped in an apartment ,but I started thinking about the scifi movie Cube, which was pretty cool.
Watched 'Mama' last night. Corny ass ending, but the story wasn't too bad to sit through. Lots of cheap scares though and pretty heavy on CGI, but it was done fairly well. Freaky kids.

A friend lent me The Ipcress File, with Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, British spy and bon vivant.Crackerjack spy flick.Enjoyed it mightily.
Now i want to get Funeral In Berlin, the sequel/followup to Ipcress File.Haven't seen it in quite a while.

IRRC Ipcress file was Caines breakout film. Very good .
The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant is a good “trapped in an apartment” film.
Scissors starring Sharon Stone is my most-liked “so-bad-it’s good” “trapped in an apartment” film. It’s so dumb, it’s hilarious.

Saw Admission, Tina Fey's newer movie with Paul Rudd. Pleasant, good quality, not a home run but very watchable. A comedy/drama , not in the same vein as Baby Mama ( which I found very funny) but not really trying to be. I liked it. And I like Tina Feys movies so far.
Watched The Place Beyond The Pines ( 2112 ) and Mud ( 2012 ) over the last week on Vudu streaming.
Pines..., starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, held my interest with a story that spanned 17 years.
Cliche in spots, but beautiful to look at.
Mud takes place on a river in a tiny depressed southern town in Arkansas.
It's a comming of age film, that is also a slow paced thriller.
Sam Sheppard and Joe Don Baker have excellent small supporting roles.
The actors who played the two boys were amazing.
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
I saw Mud a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed it. I think McConaughey was perfectly cast for the character. I'm still trying to figure out the boat-in-the-tree thing; but, there may not have been anything deeper to that.
