Of course listening to vinyl makes one better than those who don't. Same way driving fast on snow makes one feel superior to those who don't, as well as drinking coffee or beer with names that are multi-syllabic.

Q: How many music snobs does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: it's an obscure number... I doubt you've heard of it.

For the ultimate high, trying listening to vinyl... WHILE driving fast on snow... WHILE drinking coffee or beer with multisyllabic names! It's truly exhilarating.

I'd love to but my under-dash 45s player is on the fritz.

But if you want a truly breath-taking AND exhilarating experience, try listening to vinyl with a shorn scrotum.

I don't know, I have a lot of the original vinyl. I've sold off a bit.

How's your Marillion vinyl bootleg collection, Dr?

Edit: I got rid of some of my Marillo vinyl boots years ago, but still have a decent amount. Genesis vinyl boots, on the other hand, I don't let go of and still add to.

Question: is a CD dubbed from vinyl better, or worse, than an LP dubbed from a CD?

I just realized that if you play a song on Youtube and also have the Yule Log going in a different window, it sounds like playing a vinyl record.

it depends whether the CD being dubbed is from a vinyl source

This said, a vinyl taken from the CD source won't have surface noise interfering, while even the best vinyl will transfer soe noise onto a CD copy

For those who have gotten back into vinyl, they should start "printing" records on the back of cereal boxes again -- they sound warmer than CD!

This is one I remember getting back in the day, on the back of a box of Super Sugar Crisp:

I take issue with the subject line of this thread...The entire subject line should have been in all caps, not merely one word.
