My lifelong dream to see Geoff Downes play along to "Five Percent for Nothing" may finally come true.

    ....Fragile?
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

    huge misstep

Fragile seems a bit too easy as well as a bit too misleading; the freaking album is built upon self-made solo spots from members no longer present!! I'm dubious here. anyone else performing We Have Heaven, 5% and Cans and Brahams seems foolish at best and sacrilege at worst

just give us diehards freaking Drama already!!! good grief!!!

Fragile makes no sense whatsoever. I don't get it.

Downes is going to play "Cans and Brahms?"

White is going to play "Five Percent for Nothing?"

Davison is somehow going to do "We Have Heaven?"

CTTE again? I don't get it. But, will see them at Radio City and Yestbury too.

Perhaps they took "We Have Heaven" as a starting point and turned it into an album-long suite called "Heaven and Earth"

Downes playing Cans and Brahms - don't see why not? Does Wakeman have exclusive rights to Brahms' Symphony No. 4?

White playing 5% - presumably the whole group will be playing it, as on the original record

Davison playing We Have Heaven - don't see why not. It's just an acoustic guitar, some singing and some echo thing presumably...

Going to work, I expect this thread to be 40 pages by nightfall.

Perhaps the solo spots will be open for interpretation? It doesn't matter much whether Alan White plays "5% For Nothing" identical to the album version, for example. It's certainly not why people will be attending the shows.

i'm not bothered by this at all. I'm very interested in hearing them play their new material live. I want to see them depart from the nostalgia jukebox mode a little and play some new stuff, too!

I can stay home and do the nostalgia time warp with all of my 192K/24-bit HDTracks files I've purchased (which sound freaking amazing btw - don't hesitate to purchase them!).

Sure, I too would enjoy them presenting Drama in its entirety but Fragile is a nice balance to the longer pieces found on CTTE. Its all good.

Huzzah, real Yes news. Cue the 108 page thread!

I'm actually looking forward to this. As with "A Venture" on the last (sort of current) tour, now we'll get two more tracks Yes has NEVER played live (though Downes might just use "Cans and Brahms" as a starting point for his own solo spot). And if they can somehow capture the ethereal ambiance Eddie Offord gave that rekkid it could be very cool.

Or it could be a very strange and not entirely successful experiment. But just to see them attempt "Five Percent..." is worth it IMO. Alan and Chris are talented but somewhat lazy musicians these days and they'll both have to do some serious wood-shedding to be up to the task. I have to believe Bill Bruford will be smiling about that!

But IMO the main dilemma for them will be with "Roundabout in the main set what will they do for an encore?!?! Oh the hugemanatee!!!

Drama would be great for the diehards but would it draw the casual summer concert crowd? These albums make sense to me from most standpoints. Hell, I might actually go to this one (would be my first Yes show since 2002), as I'm always a fan of seeing new material live.

Wait... I just caught this. The show will be Fragile plus CTTE, plus some other chestnuts and "A special track". Could it be, oh I don't know,... an EPIC?

Also, with an album titled Heaven and Earth I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest there might be some floating rocks from Roger Dean coming our way. Just a wild guess.

    An excellent point.

I guess, since they're not doing The Yes Album, they can save "Starship Trooper" for that coveted spot in the setlist.

Haven't they already said that they don't have an "epic-length" track on the new album?
