The great David Brenner dies and nobody starts a thread until the next day

How sad. One of the giants, IMO. Very accessible humor.

This slipped by me as well. Just hearing it here too. Yea, he was one of the greats of his era. I did not realize he was that old.

I was never particularly a fan; just OK, imo. Seinfeld should pay for the funeral.

He had a great quote I always liked, which I'll have to paraphrase: "I'm shooting for the highest star up there, Ma, because if I miss, maybe when I fall I'll land on the moon. But if I shoot for the moon and miss, I'm liable to wind up right back here in the neighborhood."

    Rest in peace, David Brenner.

I'm very comfortable being Mo's parrot here, especially the Seinfeld part.

Well, Carson though he was great, considering he was on the Tonight Show more than anyone else, over 150 times. Maybe it's an East Coast thing.

I always thought he was funny as heck, and wondered why HE didn't take over The Tonight Show instead of Jay Leno. He was on there often enough, and did a good job.
