Words fail me.
Words fail me.
We're trying to build a monument to show that we were here
It won't be visible through the air
And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973
Strangest thing I've seen all week.
I remember when this song came out in Japan back in the 70's. Somehow a little later, these two, pretty much non English-speaking women, scored an American t.v. variety show with an American comic Jeff Altman. Somehow H.R. Puff and Stuff and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters seemed like better shows. ;-)

Benny Hill and heavy metal just made me spit my root beer over the screen.
The Japanese stuff is strangely compelling.
There is a lot of stuff where I ask myself if you get arrested for watching those vids..
Candy Candy Candy Candy
Sweetie Sweetie Girls Love
Chewing Chewing Chewing
Cutie Cutie So Candy Love
Now that what I call some deep thoughts lyrics
That candy candy one is slightly sinister... The babymetal stuff is funny and entertaining!
Love this stuff! Saw this over the weekend on My Mind Just Exploded.
It goes down so easy. I want more!
A friend of mine emailed this to me earlier this year:
"I have no idea what this is, but it's the most chaotic awesomeness I've seen/heard in years.
I goes through so many different music styles I couldn't even begin to describe it.
The cartoon breakdown in the middle?
The gameshow at the end?
It all equals f'ing greatness!!!"
I LOVE the Baby Metal clip, I've been aware of them for a while. It seems they finally released their first album last month. Check out other Youtube clips of them. It's just so absurd, but it works! How could they not put a smile on your face? There are some interviews with them that are equally absurd. In one they are asked about what metal band mosts influences them, and in broke english they say Canibal Corpse. Bizarre, but I get a big kick out of these girls. And they are so cute and adorable. And the metal part is not bad.
The need to do an album in English. Otherwise they'll never have a chance to break out of the Asian market.
I can't get my daughter (who is Asian) and 13, to watch this.... she is just so lame sometimes! I'm going to keep trying though.
I find this band pretty interesting.

I prefer these guys:
Death growls not for most folks, but at least the singer is older than my guitar strings!

to me they sound like a j-pop band doing Power Metal. Really nothing revolutionary, but I can follow their appeal. It is a bit fabricated, and I hear a bit too much drum machine on some of the clips I've sampled, but overall, this could be much worse. Just as long as they don't become Dragonforce, lol.
