New Sunn 0))) / Ulver collaboration out now - Terrestrials

For those who enjoy this sort of thing (you know who you are):

Sunn 0))) and Ulver finally released their joint album Terrestrials yesterday: http://sunnulversl.bandcamp.com/

Apparently the music came together during 2008-2012, so among other details it means Daniel O'Sullivan was still in Ulver at the time.

I got my copy last night...to my ears it sounds like a hybrid of 'Alice' from Sunn 0)))'s Monoliths and Dimensions, along with some of Ulver's more ambient/orchestral/electronic experiments.

I dig it, but then again I would :P

I've bought it but was waiting for a clear night to give it a spin while driving. But with that bandcamp link there...

Didn't realize it was so short.

Yeah...not the longest album I've heard, but it works well as a whole.

I gave it my first listen the other night while reading HP Lovecraft's Whisperer in the Darkness. Suffice to say, the pairing worked quite effectively

Listened to the bandcamp...twas good. I thought the first song got cut just as it started to get going, but other than that I had no issues with the track lengths.

It is definitely night music, which means the nighttime drive is still in it's future. And an excellent choice of reading material.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I figured I'd just necro-post on this thread that Mr. Battema started:

Last Saturday I was one of the fortunate to see a live performance of Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O ))) and many others) and François J. Bonnet (current director of the GRM, Kassel Jaeger). This was definitely not a Sunn O ))) experience in terms of sheer bludgeoning bass waves but something extremely nuanced and detailed and also, one of the most psychedelic shows (in terms of sound) I've heard in a good long time. You can read my thoughts here but spoilers... it was beyond stunning!

Nice! Was lucky enough to see KTL once so I definitely appreciate what SO'M does outside of Sunn O))). I've enjoyed the Bonnet collabs too!
