not even close... I got more and I *know* Tom has a ton more

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Not "forgotten" per se, but not considered worthy of a rerelease by the record company:

God knows, there are tons more out there. It's almost frightening. Just the amount from Germany alone would blow anyone's mind. And I constantly run into titles that I can't find anything on YouTube. I suppose I could add them myself, but don't have the time right now.

So here's a cool obscurity from India. At this point, the band were touring throughout Europe and actually collaborated with Embryo in the early 80s.

Louis Banks' Sangam - City Life. 1982. It was also released in Germany as Jazz Yatra Sextett - Sangam. No CD for this title.

India 1980?!?! wow that is obscure, and very good performances instrumentally and vocally. A hot tune! Thanks.

Yea - I can't really tell to be honest. I did find on the internet a few months ago where the (some?) members of Igra were calling their CDs pirates (and the 2 studio albums were issued legit by the parent label of RTB a few years ago - in fact after the Atlantide versions.) If I look hard enough, I could probably find it again.

The label is Austrian, and they only focus on (former) Yugoslavian titles. They don't have a website, but do maintain a Bandcamp site and allege they are legit. A friend of my site asked Rudy of Green Brain (German dealer), and he said they were legit. I've seen them sold by Thomas from Kalemegdan, a German label that for certain was above board - and worked with many former Yugoslavian artists for his LP label in the 90s. On the flip side, there's no bonus tracks on any of these -and it doesn't appear to involve the artists. It all seems a bit fishy, but I wouldn't want to outright call them pirates, since I don't have much data here beyond what I have said above. And Izvir is a title I would love to have on CD. Anyone else have more to offer about the label?

    ^^

I think every lable that keeps its identity hidden has really something to hide.

Couldn't agree more These just don't feel right. Certainly every once awhile a label comes long that is 100% legit even though they come out of nowhere. Like the Digatone label from Austria did last year with the Klockwerk Orange reissues. But it's pretty rare. There's usually some buzz and press ahead of time.

How about this guy, ABBA guitarist Janne Schaffer, from the 70's even.

    EARMEAL

    KATHARSIS
Both Earmael and Katharsis are recently re-released by BGO, with the addition of a third album Presens: https://www.bgo-records.com/albums/b...armeal-presens

I bought the 10CD/3DVD-box Music Story a couple of years ago, so I'll stick to those versions.

Its more than a re-release. Laswell have remixed it and added the tracks that the recordcompany took out. It was originally planned as a 2 LP, but never happened.
And this re-release never happened either officially.

I just got that Frank Cunimondo Trio album. It's really good! Definitely a keyboard showcase, but the bass player is also fantastic, so I enjoy listening to him as well.

For people still visiting this thread every once in a while, Musea has just released the self-title Chute Libre on CD. Let's hope "Ali Baba" will get a similar treatment.
