Yay for the SubRosa nod! I haven't heard the Deafheaven, but very interested and they are local to SF!

    The Ocean - Pelagial
    Batillus - Concrete Sustain
Gorguts - Colored Sands (it's no Obscura, but it's good)
    Windhand - Soma
Subrosa - More Constant Than the Gods (though I actually felt a bit disappointed compared to No Help for the Mighty Ones)

More doom and less death/grindcore than usual for me.

Carcass - Surgical Steel. Incredible comeback.

These are both excellent EPs, which I was introduced to by this article in The Monolith: http://www.themonolith.com/featured/...eases-of-2013/

The Plini is particularly good and is only $3AUD on bandcamp.

John 5 - God Told Me To. Especially if you like your metal mixed with Industrial, Horror, Flamenco, Country, Bluegrass and Porn.

Don't feel too bad...I preordered Hubardo on LP mid-last year and have yet to see my physical product either. At this rate you might have a CD version before I have my preorder
I certainly hope that is the case!

And yikes. That's an impressive amount of time to wait!
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
