    New 'Slow Music' in 2014

In Robert Fripp's diary entries from Dec. 6 and 7, he mentions scouting out rehearsal space and a venue in Seattle for Slow Music dates in April of this year. I quite enjoyed the recordings of the group from 2006 made available from DGM, and welcome more output from this collective (sadly minus the contributions of Hector Zazou, who passed in '08). I also wonder how/if the aesthetic of SMP may insert itself into the new King Crimson, given the intersection now of two members (Fripp and Rieflin). I can imagine a more open, improvisatory aspect to the group (KC), given the new instrumentation. Thoughts?

This is my favourite of Fripp's improvised work since ProjeKct 1.

The new KC vocabulary to me sounds much more conversationally ambient than locked-in standard rock flair (based purely off ASOM)...but time will tell.

I agree, but as you say it's hard to tell at this point what relationship ASOM will have with the new KC. I'm having a hard time imagining what three musicians contributing percussives will sound like in the KC context, but I'm also tying to keep in mind that there might be options: Rieflin is a multi-instrumentalist, and PM is capable of adding many different textures via electronics. That in mind, something more open-ended or even soundscape-based might be a good fit, and the fact that Slow Music is a part of Fripp's immediate playing future suggests, to me at least, that there may be some connective tissue there...
