Thread: Best of 2013 - One Only

Spiritual Beggars - Earth Blues. Not a blues album, SB are usually categorized under "stoner" but they're actually a retro 70's-style band sounding like Coverdale-era Deep Purple with a dash of Uriah Heep and some sweet Scorpions guitar tones.

You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...

Incredible how many relatively avant/RIO/Zeuhl bands are getting press in this thread, it goes to show you that "prog" means many different things to many different people. I get that, so many retro/prog projects and so many clones, can only go so far, so for taking all things into consideration - Mike Keneally - You Must Be This Tall. Arguably his best work ever?!?!?

A newcomer for the year was a little known band from Argentina - Laquesis

Setna - Guerison - grooving, hypnotic Zeuhl that won't clear the room
Think of a book as a vase, and a movie as the stained-glass window that the filmmaker has made out of the pieces after he’s smashed it with a hammer.
