I wonder what he actually did to Quicksilver Messenger Service's "Happy Trails" for Repertoire. It is an entirely different album after his remastering, an infinitely better one to these ears than the old Capitol CD. I even suspect that Eroc could have had access to a different source, but in any case it stands for me as a masterpiece of... imaginative re-construction. I generally prefer conservative approach to mastering of the old tapes, but in this (revisionist) case Eroc simply won me over.

    Here they come! (January 23rd)

Jumbo comes in both Versions. Rockpommels's Land, Solar Music and
Last Party (Live) come as 2CDs.

    ^^

Not much info at the Moment.

All the CDs are remixed and remastered. Also all (at least 11 of them) seem to be at the maximum possible length,
which is 79:10 (and the reason for the Name of the box).

All Albums are filled with unreleased (most of it) Bonus material to the max.

Hmmm...I will be keeping my eyes on this. Looks like a nice package, and several of these albums have been out of print for a while. Will probably be worth it just for the bonus material.

Not sure that's a good idea... keep the same bonus quality and relevance as in the debut's previous release and we're fine....

But I kind of dread to discover what Eroc would consider alternate takes and live versions worthy of bonus track inclusions...
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

I suppose I just start with adding the stuff I don't have on CD. I'm not sure I'm in for 2 versions of Jumbo, with bonus tracks, considering I have both versions on 1 CD.

Really pretty much the same as we do here. They wan't to know whats on it, think it's expansive and
the albums are out there as single issues and so on and so on...

Die "Box" is German for The "Box."

Die Box is actually English, simply you give the Box the order to "die".

German for Box would be "Schachtel" or "Kiste". As "die Grobschnitt Schachtel" would sound
pretty stupid even for a German we actually adopted the word Box.

In German you also have a lot of "English" sounding words, that don't exist in English or have a total
different meaning. But that's a different story.

    German lesson ended...

I wet myself when I read about the box set. I might already have enough Grobschnitt though.

All I can say is... ABOUT! DAMNED! TIME! Eroc

    http://www.grobschnitt.rocks/

Welcome to our new official website. From now on, all news about Grobschnitt can be found here.

All 14 Grobschnitt albums from 1972 until 1989 will be released by the end of February 2015 in revised form and all in the exactly adjusted length of 79 minutes and 10 seconds on CD by Universal Music. This is how the whole project was named and how the idea of the watch showing the time of 79:10 emerged. This is the maximum amount of time you are allowed to put on a CD, if you follow the Red Book Specifications for safe and secure playable compact discs.

Each of the albums Solar Music live, Rockpommel`s Land and Last Party is extended with one bonus-CD. All in all, there are 17 fully packed CDs. The complete reissue was digitally remastered and it contains numerous bonus-tracks which haven't been released before. The centerpiece is a super-deluxe-box-set called 79:10, also released by Universal. Besides all 14 albums wrapped in special mint-packs, this limited edition also includes a book in LP format with 92 pages presenting many pictures, bilangual texts and events of the band's long history, as well as a wonderful designed art-print from the inner sleeve of Rockpommel's Land in a 13" x 26“ format. As a very special gift for you we three founding members, Lupo, Eroc and Wildschwein, have handsigned each single art-print individually. So you can be sure that each one is a true collector's item.

In the course of the next few weeks we will step by step present you with more details about the re-release. So please look forward to seeing many more pictures and listening to new sound samples. It's absolutely worthwile to check back here regularly. The winter nights and holidays are long enough and the greatest joy of all is the joy of anticipation.

The box set is still supposed to be released on 27-February-2015. The individual albums probably will become available on the last week of March.
