No Quarter
Most of those songs in that first list weren't even those acts' "show-stopper". You know, the song that when performed live would leave you weak in the knees. Sure, "My Generation" is iconic and it was explosive in the 60s. But the Who have ended far more shows with the nuclear devastation that is "Won't Get Fooled Again." Most of the songs listed are big hits but generally reduced to encores or middle of the set. Yeah, Rod Stewart/Faces might perform "Maggie May" but you can bet your ass that show is going to end with "Stay with Me".
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Unless something else comes to mind, I'm going to go with " "Echidna's Arf (Of You)/Don't You Ever Wash That Thing?" .
I liked Rare Earth, Get Ready.
The older I get, the better I was.
In Your Eyes. Thank you Peter Gabriel for such a beautiful song.
Oh, it MUST be this wonderful stroke of brilliance herein (and don't try to shake that irresistible urge to singalong):
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
Without a doubt even though it was 39 yrs ago "The Musical Box" by The classic Genesis lineup was the most spectacular and powerful live song I've ever experienced.
How about the Hendrix Live version of Star Spangled Banner?

Social Media is the "Toilet" of the Internet - Lady Gaga
I get the love for Comfortably Numb, but for me, Run Like Hell is the best live Floyd song.
