    I would say that either the Velvet Underground or Led Zeppelin were more influential than the Byrds. VU was the real inspiration for alt rock, and there's still more bands with Zep in them than anyone other than the Beatles.

    I partly agree about the Velvets, but I still believe the Rolling Stones to have influenced more artists than LZ.

    "Theater" is only pronounced Thee-Ate-er if the word "Masterpiece" is in front of it

    Actually, the standard pronunciation in Ireland is close to that, but w/o the full TH -"tyee-ate-er" But at least we spell it properly - theatre
