2014 Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame ballot - now including Yes and Deep Purple

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Thanks, Jerol. I didn't know music fans could vote. I voted.

I voted for Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, The Zombies, Deep Purple and YES. I was tempted to vote for Nirvana since I like them but I went by seniority. I was also very tempted to vote for Peter Gabriel since I believe he is a worthy contender. Kiss? Not so much. However, I do think Kiss will get in over YES being that they had more votes. If it's down to top five YES might squeeze in but I'm sure they'll get in eventually.

As you can imagine it's a popularity contest and not much else.

Well the RRHoF is a popularity award as opposed to great musicians & thats why Kiss & Nirvana will get in ?

I do rate Dave Grohl though !

I still think the entire idea of a RRHOF is stupid.

It is the execution, rather than the idea, that is stupid, IMO. I don't object to the idea of a RRHOF, any more than a baseball or football hall of fame. As currently run, the RRHOF is meaningless. But it has the potential to be something good, in the right hands.

I will still NEVER go. It exists, as far as I'm concerned, like cats for many people - only useful as an object of derision. Rush got in, but only under extreme duress. I bet they're crammed into an itty bitty corner, near the restrooms. If they called it the "Music Hall of fame" I would be OK with it, but Madonna and all that diva pop stuff? NWA? Really? Rock and Roll? Really?

Rush gave the RRHOF class. the RRHOF does not return the favor.

Nirvana leads the race quite steadily. So illusions on Yes must be thrown away.
