No mention of John Novello ? Not too many Niacin fans I gather... or are they now prog?
I was coming here to post Sam Yahel but somebody beat me to the punch. I' m only familiar with his work with Joshua Redman/ Ya Ya 3.

I couldn't remember the band's name and it took forever to find the cd in my collection.

Until recently, you most likely never heard of Chris Foreman unless you live in Chicago, but now that Steely Dan has asked his trio, Deep Blue Organ Trio to open for them on their 2013 US tour, that will change. He's the real deal, well, all three of them are! Chris is blind, but he has no problem finding all the right notes and drawbars. They have 4 albums out. I'm a little sad that I won't be able to see them any Tuesday night at The Green Mill anymore, but glad that they're taking their music to a whole bunch of people now.
Joey DeFrancesco, too.

I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.
Always liked these guys even though they were admittedly a bit cheesy - just loved that organ sound:

Yeah, I like some Larry Young too. He's the one that came to mind first. Soft Machine came second to mind, but also Jimmy Smith's Root Down. Sun Ra uses some organ or keys along with many other instruments, but you might check out something like We Travel the Spaceways.

Here's something from Wendy Carlos about her modding a pedalboard for MIDI:

Shame on me! I neglected to mention Monica Dominique from Solar Plexus:

the Dr Lonnie Smith wore the Sikh turban for most of his career...
but Lonnie Liston Smith's music was more spritual... He came out of the Coltrane/Sanders galaxy... His first four solo albums are awesome.
apparently, he doesn't play a real organ (at least on tour in Europe) anymore, though
