Yes, great, except that I find it hard to watch in the knowledge that Pip Pyle would die two days later.
RIP Pip Pyle
Tankx for posting it!!
sad ... yes: RIP!
Pura Vida!.
There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind. ∞
Duke Ellington.
Found this myself a couple of months back, and thought it strange that I hadn't heard of it until then. But yes - very hard to fathom that Pip the octopus went on just a couple of days later. He sure sounds good here!
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
Thanks for posting this. Just watched the first half of this and it is such uplifting music. I agree about Pip... He sounds great here. A total joy to hear and watch him play. Of course it is yet another Pip Pyle vid with his face blocked by a cymbal! but what are you gonna do?
Anybody know if a lossless version of this is floating around on a tracker somewhere. I would love to have a DVD of this. As an aside does anyone know if the H&tN Nearfest show was filmed? I bet that would be awesome too.
Wow, how cool.
Thanks so much for posting this.
I'll watch this ASAIC
Thanks for posting.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Thanks for posting! Miss this bunch. RIP Pip.
Now that I have watched the whole thing several times in parts, I gotta say that the filmer (director?) should get some kind of award for this masterpiece. The angles, the lighting, the great barn setting, the right amount of shots of the audience, before and after show scenes, etc. All in addition to a great performance of course.
Probably my favorite live concert "release" of 2013.
Now if I could only figure out how to get this onto a DVD without the image being artificially shrunk into 4x3 and thus Richard appearing even way skinnier than he is...
Good luck, I don't know about much about that or how to make your won DVD. I need to revisit it too though, how great is Youtube at times?
