This one's just WRONG.
I think this cover is far cooler than the boring Italian Musica e parole. Though technically, the two are different albums, the US release is in English and the Italian in (duh) Italian.
Did you know that Amon Düül’s Psychedelic Underground got a US release?
...as did the first Birth Control album:
The Italian release:
...not to mention this monstrosity:
UK release of Operation (with Hipgnosis cover art):
-------------
MIKE (a.k.a. "Progbear")
"'Thin Thighs For Your Man.' But I don't *like* men with thin thighs" --Daria
N.P.:“Goodbye”-Mirror/Daybreak
Dude I would totally buy that. It's like cover art the Police would use, only tackier! [So I'm talking about the KC "Earthbound" cover.]
American Hollow - my prog band.
That Genesis cover is amazing too.
American Hollow - my prog band.
More Amon Düül, budget reissue of Psychedelic Underground (retitled Minnelied):
Rocktopus-label reissue of Disaster
US release of the first NEU! album:
...and the UK release:
...and the Spanish release:
-------------
MIKE (a.k.a. "Progbear")
"'Thin Thighs For Your Man.' But I don't *like* men with thin thighs" --Daria
N.P.:“Edge of Night”-Mirror/Daybreak
Wow Progbear!
Did not know about that "Psychedelic Underground" US coverart. And its a damn fine one too.
"Knock, Knock" is the one I have. Never checked it track by track with "same". Always thought it was some sort of early "best of".
It’s the only vinyl release of it I’ve actually spotted in a record store (years ago, at the San Lorenzo Rasputin’s at its old location).
The cassette release:
-------------
MIKE (a.k.a. "Progbear")
"'Thin Thighs For Your Man.' But I don't *like* men with thin thighs" --Daria
N.P.:“Sideways to the Sun”-Horslips/Book of Invasions
Amiga did an alternate Deep Purple and Rare Bird cover, but both are non-descript.
The US edition of the first Rare Bird LP is one of my favorite album covers ever. I was appalled when I first saw the UK cover, which looks like a cheap black light poster.
Lighthouse: One Fine Morning, always one of my favorite songs
That’s the one I have. I’ve still never seen a full-sized vinyl of the British (Regal Zonophone) version. There’s apparently also a later ABC-Dunhill release in a single-panel cover, but I have the original gatefold Paramount release.
It’s my karaoke standard. No kidding.
Look, the UK release of Can’s Tago Mago:
...and the UK version of Kraan Live:
-------------
MIKE (a.k.a. "Progbear")
"'Thin Thighs For Your Man.' But I don't *like* men with thin thighs" --Daria
N.P.:“A Lotus on Irish Streams”-Mahavishnu Orchestra/Inner Mounting Flame
More from the “Rock on Brain” budget series:
The first NEU! album, retitled Hallogallo:
Cluster’s Zuckerzeit:
Steig aus by Embryo:
Musik von Harmonia, retitled Dino
Scorpions’ Lonesome Crow, retitled Action:
Samtvogel by Günter Schickert:
-------------
MIKE (a.k.a. "Progbear")
"'Thin Thighs For Your Man.' But I don't *like* men with thin thighs" --Daria
N.P.:“The Dance of Maya”-Mahavishnu Orchestra/The Inner Mounting Flame
Yeah, even for 70's standard freedom of expression, Birth Control was aking for trouble
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
