Speaking of Ulver (a few pages back, when discussing the EX-metal acts) - here's a peek at their latest release:

Dark, foreboding, a bit repetitive, some electronica (which has sadly, IMO, become a signature of Ulver's), but not "heavy"...

    Regards,

    Duncan

I'm looking forward to the new release by The Contortionist called Clairvoyant.
Not as djenty as they used to be, but a good song in my opinion:

I've been listening to the Uneven Structure album from earlier this year called La Partition and I'm finding it quite worthy too.

Dang, what happened to ZERO HOUR?! "The Towers of Avarice" is one of my desert island discs. But their signature sound is so unique that every subsequent album seems to be playing off of the same kind of riffage. They went through 2 new singers after Towers, neither of which fit the bill for me. Then if I recall they got back with the singer from the Towers album and recorded something under the name Cynthesis (or something like that) but they couldn't quite recreate the magic of Towers...
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...

they made I think 2 albums as Cynthesis. I like the music, but the poor mixing of the cymbals was hard to get past. Towers is a special record though.

Ne Oblviiscaris coming back and headlining in the US this Fall.
