Maybe I missed it because it's a long thread but I don't see any mention of "Kami-sama I have Noticed." Probably because they're on the pop and rock charts in Japan but they're really inventive and the musicians are as good as it gets.
A couple more groups from the Japanese pop charts that (to my ears anyway) that have some major prog elements
Hopefully, they will record and release this show. Using Google Translate, I saw the band that is scheduled to play and it lists a violin player by the name of Akihisa Utsui. Is this a different player that Akihisa Tsuboy, or it's the same player but under a different name. After all, how many Akihisa violin players can they have in Japan?
Electric Asturias arrived today, so CDJapan's email was a bit odd.
Lu7 sound exactly like that Japanese jazz-rock combo Fragile

Pura Vida!.
There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind. ∞
Duke Ellington.
Thought some following this thread might be interested in new(er) music from Green Milk from the Planet Orange. Apparently the band reformed a couple of years ago and released their third full length album (appropriately named Third) in May of this year. If you liked 'City Calls Revolution' from about 15 years ago (!) then you'll llikely find something to enjoy here.

new Sheena Ringo album has some bangers
Listening to Ground Zero - Last Concert on the advice of a friend. The musical equivalent of Godzilla invading the big cities. Brilliant!
And here I thought I had caught 'em all. Christ, I missed some amazing groups. Back down the rabbit hole I go!
