Indeed, Kerry! A good while back, before there was even a Mars Hollow, you sent me a compilation of your stuff and I told you I loved your pop tunes. And I still do! Your prog endeavors have been great, but I think you could actually make some real money with your pop stuff. Just sayin'!

Now why would I want to go and do something like that? Seriously, thank you, Ernie.

Nice, Reid! Sarah Vaughan did an album of Michel Legrand tunes (with Michel arranging and conducting) late in her career and that's one of my favorite tracks from it. Of course, being an old guy, I remember the movie too; one of the all time great "coming of age" films! Or maybe I should say "cumming of age."

I know there's a pantheon of Bruce haters here but I still can't believe no one posted this:

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Thanks for that Joe Pass video, Jeff! He sure could milk a lot of variations out of one song! I got to see him do his solo guitar thing live a couple of times and it was a real treat!

BTW, Mogrooves studied with him; how cool is that?!

Wow.. I would say that DAMN cool!!
    Yeah, Joe was really great.
Btw, What are your feelings on Jim Hall? He's my favorite 'straight ahead-ish' jazz guitar player. Great tone, economy of notes and development, etc.. Sorry for taking this thread elsewhere for the moment.

Love him! I saw him twice too, once playing duo with Red Mitchell on bass and once with a quartet (I forget who was in it). Beautiful, very lyrical player!

But if I was forced at gunpoint to pick an all-time favorite jazz bigbox archtop player, it'd still be Wes Montgomery.

Very cool, Ernie! I absolutely love Hall's duo album with Ron Carter 'Alone Together' and of course the two with Bill Evans. I would've loved to of seen him in that format.................. or any other format for that matter.

Yeah, Wes is Wes. What else can be said?
