When did Vivian Stanshall pass? I missed that. Bummer.

Would Billy Preston count? (Beatles - almost)

5 March 1995 - quite a tragic demise for many reasons - he died in a fire caused by him smoking in bed while drunk. By an eerie coincidence he died exactly 100 years to the day after the "real" Sir Henry Rawlinson - of whom Viv was apparently unaware.

Not limited to prog, but a good collage of absent musicians just the same.

A pity. He was the “good” Wakeman vocalist.

Shame on you for not mentioning his work with McLaughlin, Larry Young and Jack Bruce!

Add Sacha van Geest of Supersister to the list. I consider myself fortunate to have seen him live not long before he passed. Also: have Michael Karoli (Can) and Pierre Moerlen been mentioned?

    Prog-related?

Gee, you sure do have a way with words. Jeff was great, too. He, like his father, died in a tragic way.
