Good news to see a "post Daevid/Gilli" Gong led by Orlando. Big, big fan of Fabio Golfetti and all his work, Violeta de Outono. And if they take a cue or two from the Acid Mother Gong album..!

With Kavus on guitar this'll be great. Hope it doesn't delay Knifeworld 2 for too long.

Am I to understand Daevid isn't involved any longer?

No, he's on this record, but I think this version of Gong could be built for the long term...

Ha! Well so far I'm managing to work equally on both. I suspect Gong will be finished first. Activity is occurring at a dizzying rate... On three continents!

Not much to say that Orlando hasn't already mentioned. I feel extremely honoured to have been asked by Daevid to play for one of my favourite bands since I was a kid. The current line up is a killer. Daevid has made it very clear he has no desire for Gong to be a nostalgia act.
There is a very good, productive vibe at the moment. Everyonone is working like madmen to get this new album made. So far it's sounding great. 2014 looks to be a very busy year for Gong.

heh... nice to see Daevid being his usually stoned self... looks like he's still in pretty good shape... though he looks 85 and I think he's like 65 no?

thoroughly enjoyed that vid... they sure know what the best sections of those 2 albums were don't they!?

tho the drummer pales compared to Moerlen... and the guitarist is good but Hillage is so inimitable you can never replace his parts... but the most notable absence I heard was Tim Blake's spacey Synths, especially on Master Builder

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

    75.
He was a bit older (5-7 years) than the other founding members of Soft Machine.

    Great News!

Acid Motherhood was the best Gong album in a decade. Can't wait.

And Cotton Casino is now in University of Errors!

Does this deserve to be called Gong, though... OK, it's up to Daevid of course...

From what I gather, Daevid has been clean since the mid-80's
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

It’s quite good. The songs on Rejoice! I’m Dead grabbed me a little more immediately, but that’s hardly a slight on this album. I’d love to hear these tunes live.

That first track is a great ride.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

Gave it a few listens, great album, though I get more of a Steve Hillage Fish Rising vibe from it than Gong, but still love it anyway...
