Just passing this on from The Web UK (Marillion's UK Fan Club, which works closely with the band on their magazine, etc.):

------------------------------------------------

On behalf of the Web UK team:

None of our members can have failed to have noticed the fantastic look of the Web Magazine under the expert hands of Jim Sanders. Jim's flair for great design meant that the bar was raised considerably, and everyone upped their game to try and ensure that the written content matched that of the visual content. We know that our members appreciated it because you regularly told us how much you liked it.

Sadly, Jim has informed us that he wishes to step down from his role as designer. This will leave a big hole in the Web UK team, and we're sure you'll join us, Racket Records and Marillion themselves in thanking Jim for his hard work over such a long period. We'll miss you, Jim!

In the meantime, we're putting out the call to our members to find a successor.

The Web UK's next designer is an experienced user (and owner!) of Quark Xpress or Adobe Creative Suite (currently we use Quark), and used to creating for print. You are a good team player, used to liaising with content providers to produce attractive publications. You are a dedicated and knowledgeable Marillion fan with plenty of time to devote to putting out four high quality publications a year under tight time constraints.

This probably doesn't need saying, but as with all Web UK team roles, it's something you'll want to do for love of the band, its music and its fans.

If you think this is you, please email an expression of interest to info@theweb-uk.com with details of your experience and links to examples of your work. Please do not include attachments larger than 2MB on your email.

We know the right person is out there and look forward to hearing from you.
