No. That statement shows someone with a different opinion than yours. While the first Queen album may not be my favorite by them, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Well, if you can get a few quid for 'em, why not?

I do have to admit though, I can't see how anyone can rate the first Queen album over Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, A Day At The Races, and News Of The World.

Well I rate the debut over News of the World (as much as I like it). I think songs like "Liar", "Great King Rat" and "Son & Daughter" are better than anything on NotW. All imho, of course.

Races and News are rather weak, IMHO

I'd rate their debut after 2, but ahead of (more or less in order) Jazz, Opera and Attack...
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

I would place the Queen debut after ANATO, ADATR, Queen 2, and SHA.

Are you saying Truth is a better album that Beck-Ola, or are you also counting the second iteration of JBG (which I think was a better band than the one with Rod The Mod and Woody) and/or Beck's solo records?

Word. Without question, this album would have been hailed as a masterpiece if it had come from the hands of an obscure early 70s underground folk-rock act - as opposed to a major onetime big-selling UK band. "Lady Eleanor", "Winter Song", "Jackhammer Blues", "We Can Swing Together", "Clear White Light" and "The Things I Should Have Said" are all classic tracks, IMO.

I also really disagree with the Be Bop Deluxe suggestion.

While Tubular Bells is excellent, Ommadawn and Hegrest Ridge are better.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Pearl Jam never made an album that stood out as much as "Ten" did.

Put me down for the first ELP album. Nothing they did after that can match it (imo of course).

I'm saying that Truth, in my opinion, is better than Beck-Ola.
