Just Bought A Black Sabbath album

Best Buy's going out of business so they're having a blowout sale on CDs and Rock t-shirts. I Bought "Vol. 4" and a Rush t-shirt. Both were 5 bucks each. I sound like JIF.....

/what did you mean by that last part, Vic? Many people, like Geezer(as in Progeezer), said that they like my threads. I first heard this CD at my uncle's house in Wyoming. This album hits you right in the nuts from the opening song. Btw, I thought that it was Geezer that played piano and mellotron on Changes.

Speaking of which, some cool pics just surfaced from Hollywood Bowl '72. Or at least I had never seen them. Appear to be from the soundcheck. This was the night Iommi collapsed on stage due to exhaustion. Gentle Giant opened. Looks like maybe "Changes" had been planned?

If this is your only Sabbath album, then you might now wish to get Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage, the two that followed it. Then get Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. Then get all the other albums up to and including Born Again.

The only others I saw in that $4.99 bin were the first two albums. I'll probably get those. I'd like to get MOR, Sabotage, SBS, and stop there. BTW, I always loved the album cover. The first time I saw it in a record store all those decades ago I thought that was Robert Plant on the cover.

I've heard a few tracks from it that appear on a Sab compilation I've had for a few years, but never heard anything else from it until yesterday. Just never got into them. Better late than never.

You may as well add the debut and Paranoid to the list. Sure the latter has track that I'd be OK never hearing again (Iron Man, Paranoid, Fairies Wear Boots) but it has got some great 'lesser known' tracks too! (Electric Funeral, Hand Of Doom)...

MOR is probably the album that had the deepest effect on my musical tastes in my life. It's the reason I still seek out stoner, 37 years after hearing it for the first time!
