    Has anyone posted this ?
    Chico Buarque Construção
This one never fails to send shivers
Great emotional songwriting and a progressive arrangement to boot

A melancholy but beautiful tune by Jobim. I like this version from Lee Ritenour's debut better than the one on Jobim's "Stone Flower" album (though I do like that album).

I'm a big fan of a lot of Brazilian music and look forward to checking out all the links posted here when time permits. In the interim, I'll also share a few favorites that come to mind:

Raiz de Pedra (from their live album)

teaser from the latest Itiberê Zwarg & Grupo CD

    Itiberê Orquestra Família

    Cheers,

    Hi again,

And two more (that I had to list separately due to system constraints here):

    Mente Clara

    Armazém (Abaporu)

    Cheers,

    Alan

Nice submissions, Alan! Never heard of any of 'em, but they were all cool! A bit more on the jazzy and progressive side of Brasilian music... and all seem to have some Hermeto Pascoal influence.

Armazem are particularly awesome. I've only got one of their albums, but I listen to it frequently.
