Damn, I swore that I would not spend anything on CDs this summer because of vacation plans. This thread is going to cost me. That Wolf People sounds fantastic!

I'm jealous. No love for the West Coast yet.

    Thanks for that.
There's a bizarro world out there where Wolf People, Syd Arthur and Diagonal are booked for a huge tour and kill it.

That was a really nice article. I'm glad the lads are getting more press. Their music has been my primary soundtrack of the summer.

    Thanks for posting it.

Based on some descriptions that I had read, I had assumed that these guys were a retro Led Zeppelin-ish Hard Rock band, and hadn't checked them out. That article was posted on another forum, and after reading it, I went to Youtube to give them a listen. I listened to the whole 'Fain' album and I think it's fantastic. Really like what I heard.
Ordered it and will likely see 2 dates in October between Detroit, Columbus & Pittsburgh.

Never mind. Listened to all the samples on Amazon & ordered Fain & Steeple. For now, I'll pass on Tidings.

    You made the right choice.

Tidings is essentially the first handful of singles Jack Sharp made using the name Wolf People, but there was no band per se. Those singles are very much like something you'd hear off of the Nuggets II box set. Those handful of singles are surrounded by a collage of studio experiments and odd bits of tape recorded around the same time. So the whole thing is a pretty psychedelic experience.

On Steeple you can hear the transition between the folk-pop stylings present in Tidings and the harder folk-rock sound that defines Fain. (All you have to do is compare "Tiny Circle" to "The Banks of Sweet Dundee.") Because I think Fain is da shit, Tidings hasn't gotten a lot of comparative plays.

I got my tickets for an October show. For the outrageous price of $10! Well, $14.50 with fees...
    Should be fun

Good call Steve. Tidings doesn't match the two you bought.

Ugh! Philly date coincides with Anathema, Steve Hackett, and NJ Proghouse festival. I need to be cloned.

I was going to catch 2 of the gigs closer to home, where they are the openers. I changed my mind and would rather see them as the headliner, and went to Pollstar to see about tickets for the Bloomington, IN date on the 20th. It doesn't show up. Does anyone know if this is an IU event and only available through the University, or what is going on here?
