    How about a second song?

That second song is a bit better, but file under 80's rock anthem...
I live in an ephemeral eternity

Wow, that's pretty lame. I don't think it's any better than the other track.

That "gonna be hell" bit has KISS written all over it.

Yeah it's a better track than that first one but I honestly don't like Ian's vocals on this.

He's 60+ years old. Give the man a break.

I guarantee you that classic rock fm stations nationwide will gladly play the first single just like they played Tattoo from the latest Van Halen album.

Btw,those that are old enough to remember, what did you think of The Who releasing Squeeze Box? I recall people being shocked and they hated it. It became one of the best selling records of all time. Country bar bands were playing it for 3 decades.

Oh, boy. The more I hear of the new record, the more I realize that I don't need any more "new" Purple. Steve Morse isn't even helping. Many of his licks seem to be things I've heard before and better on his or the Dregs albums.

I actually kind of like this 2nd song.

I kind of like it, too, but it's not really anything different than what's on Bananas or Rapture of the Deep.

Hmmm. Second song, although different than the first, isn't really an improvement. Gillan's vocals are the most nasal I've heard from him. Not good.

The recording diary gives me hope for some of the other tunes, as do some different teaser camples.

I think that's Steve's signature style. So, why fix it if it ain't broke? Besides, nothing wrong with a little jaaz fusion in DP.
