Very sad loss today.
Oh that's sad. Saw him play in the 80's and he was terrific.

Sad news indeed
This is actually very strange, seeing how I was thinking of him just yesterday in relation to his father's appearence in the M.R. James-production series by the BBC in the 70s, which is available to watch on YouTube these days. I thought, well his dad is 90-something; what if he outlives that once-near-a-wreck of his rock'n'roller son? And two days later, Alvin Lee dies!
I'm saddened to hear this. He was a great player and a fine showman as well - and TYA made some truly intense roller tracks.

Saw him many times live.... Very, very sad news.
Bummer. Has he done anything in the recent past? I haven't heard him mentioned in a long time.
I always thought of TYA as kind of pre-progressive, especially with the Space in Time album. But I came on to them as a psychedelic blues band and saw them four times in one year. I've got a remembrance here: http://wp.me/pgATL-1WG
I saw Ten Years After before, at & after Woodstock (probably 6 times total) back in their heyday, and this indeed is a great loss. The "Scissors" comment about his showmanship is spot on! He was not only a great guitar player, but the total package.
RIP Mr.Lee

Very sorry to hear this. I've always been a fan. Rest in peace, Alvin.

Saw him once back in the day. One of the first bass lines I learned was Love Like A Man. RIP Alvin.

Damn, one of my musical heroes. This is very disheartening! Saw TYA numerous times in my life, and Alvin was always a good show. He will be missed.
Sad.
I remember his Woodstock performance blowing my 12-year-old mind.

Saw him at Brassy's, in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was everything I expected him to be, and more. Sad loss.

Just read that Alvin Lee from Ten Years After has died at the age of 68 from complications during a routine surgical procedure, this is very sad news.
Who can forget his amazing performance with TYA at Woodstock performng "Im Going Home" which was truly one of the highlights of the Festival. My sincere condolences go out his family during this unexpected tragedy.
Very sad to hear this on the Classic Rock radio a few minutes ago. A guitar great.

I saw Alvin Lee about twenty five years ago. He was just excellent. I can't believe he was 68. Sorry for his family and rest in peace.

RIP Alvin
A bit off subject, but I know Mo (Mogrooves) seen Ten Years After, I can't wait to hear his take on this band.
