Never play slap bass around bears, you'll make them VERY angry.

It's an interesting mystery, but the evidence seems pretty inconclusive that he was murdered. That's one odd story though no matter what way you look at it.

There's a lot of people who think he was murdered, possibly by an LA mobster he managed to piss off. There's a theory that it was a suicide, and there's also theory that he was merely huffing gasoline fumes and passed out and died.

I've been on kind of Bobby Fuller kick ever since seeing an animated movie last year called The Fantastic Mr. Fox, which used Let Her Dance. I used to have that LP when I was a kid, but probably haven't heard it about 30 years.

I think quite a bit of 'great drum intros' can be found on drummer-led groups (Gadd Gang) and drummer's solo albums.

"Generale" by PFM is a good suggestion. I immediately thought of "Non-Brewed Condiment" on Alan Holdworth's "Atavachron".

I'm sorta glad that nobody's mentioned Aerosmith's Walk This Way!
