    Counterparts SACD

    Hi,

Has anyone heard the new Rush - Counterparts SACD? I'm tempted to pick it up, as I've never been particularly thrilled about the sound of either the remaster or the original disc, but I'm wondering if it is worth the $27.

I have CTTE preordered from Amazon so I will hopefully have it on Tuesday. I've never actually listened to SACD before though my DVD does play the format. This should be a pretty interesting experience and if I can't tell a difference then I can probably just wait a few months and flip the disc for more than I paid for it.

Rand Kelly started a thread on the CTTE SACD sometime ago. There was plenty of discussion regarding which were the best sounding versions of CTTE on CD.

^Oh well, sorry about that. Guess I'll turn in it a Counterparts SACD thread, instead. :-)

No need to apologize. I pointed it out in case you were looking for information on the CTTE releases. Considering the lack of comments/details from Hoffman and his crew regarding the source and condition of the tapes used for this release, plus the history of this particular recording (Numerous cut and paste on the tapes), I would wait for reviews from fans before buying CTTE on SACD.

Not yet. I'm not a fan of this era Rush but I'll get to it soon. Been focusing on CTTE at the moment.

Mine should arrive today, along with CTTE. Got the 24K Gold "Roll the Bones" from Ken over the weekend.

As a label and retailer it is not my place to offer opinions on this forum. Only facts.

I'm sure you will see lots of positive opinions of these reissues on the Steve Hoffman forum (as I'm also sure the negative ones will be deleted).
