Sun Ra - Concert for the Comet Kohoutek CD Question

Just a quick question of different CD versions of Sun Ra's Concert for the Comet Kohoutek: There seem to be two different track listings out there (with different track lengths) and I was just wondering if the music is the same on both discs?

    The first (original) version:

    1. Kohoutek Intro
    2. Astro Black
    3. Variations Of Kohoutek Themes
    4. Journey Through The Outer Darkness
    5. Enlightement
    6. Unknown Kohoutek
    7. Discipline
    8. Outer Space E.M. (Emergency)
    9. Space Is The Place

    The second version:
    1. M.C. Intro
    2. Astro Black
    3. Discipline 27 (Part 1)
    4. Enlightenment
    5. Love In Outer Space
    6. Kohoutek
    7. Discipline 27 (Part 2)
    8. Outer Space Employment Agency
    9. Space Is The Place

    Many thanks, Sun Ra enthusiasts.

Yep, these are the same. His back catalogue has a lot of folks playing around with it and pumping tons of material out.

Is it same music with different titles?

Judging by the samples on Amazon, the reissue has a spoken word intro that is not on my original CD, and the total time is a little longer even if you omit the first track. The track markers are in drastically different places, so it's hard to compare directly track by track.

A lot of that stuff consists of unauthorized live releases, not his back catalog.

This is the main reason I ask. If the two CDs have the same music, all good, if not...well then a searchin' I shall go.

Thanks, although both of these were released by ESP-Disk, as far as I can tell.

Yes, I did mean the live releases, not just his legal tender releases. :-)
