I'm curious if the Giants would consider going full on tank at this point a la Raiders last year. They could get a ransom for Barkley and lesser sums for a few guys like Engram. Write this off as an 1-15 year (they'll still beat the Redskins), have Eli retire and get some draft picks for this year and next.

I assumed that this is what they're doing. But I think their fans would go completely insane if they traded Barkley.

Could their GM afford to? Gruden has a 10-year contract and Marc Davis has a blind faith in him. He was able to get rid of anyone in the organization he did not want to work with, or coach. Does that situation exist in the G-Men organization?

Nah. Barkley and Engram are going nowhere. Eli will still be QB for a year or two. I honestly don't even think that they will go after Haskins if he's available when it gets to #6 pick. I think they go defensive line.

For the giants sake I hope so. I mean...if next year or even the year after that (after the inevitable 4-12 or similar shit record) they fire the coach and/or GM, it would only make the whole ordeal more hilarious/tragic.

First Trump becomes president, now the Browns are projected for the super bowl. Could this be signs of the end of the world.

You don't have to worry. Stephen A. says the Browns aren't a Super Bowl contender, so we can be sure that they don't have a chance.

It's not a done deal, but it looks like The Fins are are winning the tug-o-war. Who knows.

You can't go home again..so Teddy should avoid the Phish.

If he needs to leave the Aints, he should bide his time until Captain CapSpace fails miserably (as is his destiny) and Teddy B can make a triumphant return to the Vikes (and I can wear my Teddy jersey again).

    Re: Cozy's Barkley assertion
Never should have drafted him, but now that they have him, he's awesome you traded obj and you're rebuilding? Time to trade now. As in yesterday. But as Klonker said - not gonna happen.

So, New Orleans has apparently re-structured Brees' deal, which usually involves deferring money. His cap hit next year will reportedly be $41 million.

I don't know how he makes ends meet.
Brian Dennehy: "I'm now 80 and I'm just another actor and that's fine with me. I've had a hell of a ride," ... "I have a nice house. I haven't got a palace, a mansion, but a pretty nice, comfortable home. I've raised a bunch of kids and sent them all to school, and they're all doing well. All the people that are close to me are reasonably healthy and happy. Listen, that's as much as anybody can hope for in life."

The Dolphins low-balled Teddy. Ah well, why would he want to come to a team that's tanking?

Giants sign Golden Tate. Not anywhere near the talent of OBJ, but a very good slot receiver...I'll take it.

NFL suspends Kareem Hunt for 8 games. 2 less than I was expecting. We'll see the 2-headed monster backfield for half the season, then.

Interesting, after he said that he only has limited time left in the NFL and he wants to win.

Many people's mind can be changed with money. The giants certainly overpaid him. I can't imagine another team with a competitive offer.
