I might try for either the Rochester or Albany shows. I could theoretically ride Amtrak to those ones.

I saw tickets were on sale for FRANK, so I assumed Zappa but it was for the Sinatra Hologram tour........ Be careful out there or maybe it's the same band, different hologram?

I think they're billing it as if it's Frank Zappa's ghost performing.

This is a new thread. The old thread was about the hologram tour. This one is about the hologram tour's tour.

Or worse yet, the Frank Sinatra, Jr. Hologram.

A Frank Meets Frank mash-up would be epic. I'd definitely pay to see that.

Or Frankenstein sings Frank.....after he attacks the audience, Gene Wilder's hologram comes out and does a 43-minute 12-tone improvised marimba solo based on You Make Me Feel So Young.

What if a projection of diamonds, rubies and emeralds is their form of payment?

They should definitely do stuff like have Frank fly through the air, grow huge (like what's her name in the Steven Wislon shows), appear in the balcony, etc. They should get really creative.

Oh, sure! They could dress him up like a cowboy to attract Garth Brooks fans.

    Question:
On ZPZ tours (at least early on) didn't Dweezil trade solos with his Dad on a video screen? I believe so....

If instead of a hologram it was FZ on screen (still unreleased music solos etc etc) with these '88 alum plus the Vaultmeister on drums; would it be more palatable???

The band accompanied one of FZ's solos. I don't know if Dweezil traded solos with FZ.

IIRC, he did. But it was just one bit in a full-length concert, not the premise of the whole show.

Preferably for when they cover Beers, Steers & Queers (a Zappa-esque title if ever there was one...).

Without looking at the link on the OP, ‘hologram tour’ seems most hokey. It would’ve been interesting if they had marketed this as a concert tour of alumni musicians and allowed the hologram to be ‘self’ evident. But, I’m not one who’s putting money behind it.

I'm getting the impression that the holograms won't just be Frank. Famous objects from his album art and otherwise will probably get the 'gram treatment too. And what harm could that do? You really think they will trade solos with a sofa or a poodle? Nobody bitches about projections on a screen behind the band. This is just more of that, but 3D.

I didn't even ask and I just got comped! Decades of clean living pays off big time and maybe it's the hologram of Gail begging forgiveness for her harassment of me. [or maybe not ]

So, much to my surprise, I am going!!

    Definitely....

Circumstances, objects, places and subject matter from Frank’s songs and imagination will be brought to life for the first time on stage. We are anthropomorphizing Frank’s music utilizing various visual techniques, art styles, classic imagery from his album artwork and characters from his songs, culminating in one extremely bizarre, live music experience.
