The Ian Gillan book is an excellent read, and I assume an acceptable entry with Blackmore being included above.

Interviewer of reprobate ne'er-do-well musicians of the long-haired rock n' roll persuasion at: www.velvetthunder.co.uk and former scribe at Classic Rock Society. Only vaguely aware of anything other than music.

Yep! They both are well worth including but I didn't want to risk too many less central prog citations initially lest I be harangued for being insufficiently 'prog' lol (the irony is that on another forum, I was told my half of my list wasn't even prog .

Both out of print, but the previous version of PE used to host Eric Tamm's two books: Brian Eno: His Music and the Vertical Color of Sound and Robert Fripp: From King Crimson to Guitar Craft.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

Neal Morse - whatever his book is called
Guy LeBlanc - there's a book about his life and work (written before his death), forget the author but he was at ProgDay along with Guy (RIP)
Steve Reed - From Cyan to Magenta (book by lyricist Steve Reed)

Ok, getting out of the classic prog rock zone here, but prog related!

There's also a good book about Iron Maiden by Mick Wall. There's a book about Gentle Giant too.

A book about Gentle Giant? That's hardly outside the classic prog rock zone.
    Any information on this book?

This is the Gentle Giant book I think is being referenced (Paul Stump):

    https://www.amazon.com/Gentle-Giant-...s=Gentle+Giant

I got it, it's pretty good. Well worth buying for the fan.

I forgot about the Neal Morse book. It is a little preachy in spots, but I enjoyed it and certainly gave a lot of background to his story.
