My guess is that Zombies moving fast or slow depends on "The Time of the Season"...

Speaking of fast zombies, the best and more convincing example for me is "28 days later", by Danny Boyle (from 2002), in which former athletes were used as living deads. It's scary because the zombies run *really* fast.

One thing about slow zombies is that the infection rate is usually (or always) a lot slower, and that can add a lot of suspense too. The almost instant infection rate and the fast zombies usually result in that super-fast kind of editing that sometimes just goes too fast for me to enjoy. The whole movie can seem like a long trailer.

Yes. These with Zombieland are my favorites. The original Night of The Living Dead is great. It’s not a genre that does much for me, save the zombie comedies.
I did see The Zombies a few years ago, with Todd Rundgren and Edgar Winter at The Sausalito Art Festival. The Zombies were moving at a good pace that day.

I forget the titles, but there's an indie zombie movie that takes place in I think an NYC tenement, and then there was a more mainstream remake of it. I saw most of the indie version, that's all. Anyone remember the titles? These were probably mid 2000s.

I loved the slow zombies until 28 Days Later. Man that was intense! Slow or fast though doesn't matter much to me. They're all fun.
