The rules are pretty simple, no Big Six, if you can only pick one Prog CD to listen to from this point forward, which one?
PFM - Per Un Amico

So for the purposes of this discussion, what exactly is "The Big Six". Obviously, you're talking about Yes, ELP, Genesis, Crimson...but who are the other two?
Magma: Köhntarkösz
That's my choice for the moment, anyway.
^ Tull and Floyd are the other two, Chris.
Univers Zero - Ceux De Dehors.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Operation Mindcrime- Queensryche
Probably a National Health or Hatfield or Caravan or Camel album.
Wow, depressing thought - only one? Close to the edge it is.
I got nothin' :
...avoiding any implication that I have ever entertained a cognizant thought.

SF Sorrow - Pretty Things
No "what is prog" bs please.
"My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician, and to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference"
President Harry S. Truman
Van der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts
Only one? Tough!
Don't hold me to it but at this moment I'll choose:
Barclay James Harvest - XII
Univers Zero - Ceux De Dehors
or
Magma - Live Hhai
or
Gentle Giant - Interview
or
Hatfield - Rotters
or...
That limitation is very... limiting.
Okay then, I'll give another vote for PFM - Per Un Amico. Absolutely gorgeous album. On another day it would probably be the first Celeste album.
Circus - Movin'On for obscurities
But among the better-known, In The Land Of Grey & Pink
Other choice: Harmonium -5è Saison

Cabezas de Cera - Metal Música/Aleaciones Aleatorias.
Two that come to mind are Island - Pictures and Pochakaite Malko's debut. Pretty much a coin flip for me. Could have gone with a GG album, like Power & the glory, but I'm still hearing new things with every listen on the Island and Pochakaite Malko, so they'd be my favorites, for now. If forced to pick one... Pochakaite Malko.
Bill
Camel - Moonmadness
assuming Camel wasn't one of the big 6
